Israel is a sovereign country that does not make decisions based on pressures from abroad, says PM Netanyahu after US President Biden warned Tel Aviv "cannot continue" pressing for deeply controversial reforms.
Israel is a sovereign nation that does not make decisions based on pressures from abroad, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said in response to comments by US President Joe Biden.
Biden said on Tuesday he hoped Netanyahu would abandon judicial changes that had sparked protests in Israel and a political crisis for its government.
"Israel is a sovereign country which makes its decisions by the will of its people and not based on pressures from abroad, including from the best of friends," Netanyahu hit back early on Wednesday...

Bibi wanted Biden, Bibi got Biden, so he needs to just shut the Hell up.
Was this before, or after the JoeTatoe went for ice cream, and licked some of the little kids at a press conference?
With all this turmoil going on now in Israel I can’t help but recall what Henry Kissinger said 11 years ago - that Israel would probably cease to exist within a decade. He thought it would be because US support for Israel would wane by that time and Israel wouldn’t last without that support.
I guess nobody expected an internal dispute among Jews. I saw 2 Israelis arguing between themselves on another site one liberal and one a religious conservative. It appears their differences are implacable. The lefty said there’s no way he was going to live in a theocratic state and that all liberal Jews would move to the US or Europe if Netanyahu gets his way. I don’t know anything about the nuances of Israeli politics but this sure seems like a serious division over there.
Joe Biden, or his handlers, are more flagrant than even Obama. I’ve never in my life seen another administration so blatantly interfering in the internal politics of Israel. And of course it’s being done with one overarching goal - to make Israel weak and divided.
Bibi Netanyahu really got a lot back for being the first foreign leader to congratulate Senile Biden on the stolen election, didn’t he??
From the perspective of the secular Left, Israel is having a “demographic crisis”, because the religious have been rearing lots of children, dramatically increasing their numbers. A consequence of this is that the influence of the secular Left in the popularly elected Knesset is continually waning. So they cling to power by other means, making a lot of noise and threats in the process.
Yes that was one of the things mentioned in their argument that the religious right is now a slight majority over there. The lefty remarked that it was only the Supreme Court that was left to keep the religious right from implementing a theocratic state and if Netanyahu managed to remove their power it was all over for them (liberals) as far as remaining in Israel. The Ashkenazi Jews tend to be leftists and hold all the money and much of the power from what I understand so if they split it wouldn’t be good. My guess is Netanyahu will be forced to fold. There’s also Netanyahu’s impending corruption charges I’m wondering if this fits into the mix somehow.
Good for Bibi. If I were Israel, I would seriously consider getting closer to China.
Straight from the figurative horse’s mouth:

“Netanyahy and the Likud party has a 46 year history of opposition to Biden.”
No, they do not. More Jewish propaganda. They loved Democrats, always have. They see FDR a their savior of WWII and have backed the Democrats ever since.
