Those EV charging stations are not performing

Can’t speak for those cars, but I remember 15 or so years ago, Honda stated that the air going OUT of their tailpipes was cleaner than their air going into their engines, at least on bad days in California.

Of course they were quickly to stop making that claim, regardless of how true it was.

This was a real enlightening report on EVs & battery charging. There are even worse problems than I realized. Glad I am an older person & hopefully never get to the point where I can’t utilize an ICE powered vehicle.

I was pretty certain that “green energy” could never power all the power we needed or probably even just the charging stations for EVs. No reason the average electrical user(for OTHER than EVs) should pay the cost penalty for charging the lemon that some idiot chooses to buy because he heard that “it is cheaper to operate”.

Automobiles run on gasoline, and the gasoline industry rose along with the automobile industry.

Cities became electrified by centralized power companies that replaced natural gas by running electric power lines through the existing gas pipes within each home.

The electrical grid was designed to power stationary cities and homes, include rail traffic, but not mobile automobiles.

What is different with the EV industry is that there isn't an independent provider of electricity to serve the motoring public as there is with the gasoline industry. It's not enough to replace the internal combustion engine with an electric engine, we have to replace the gasoline providers with a dedicated electricity provider that is separate from the source of electricity for our cities and homes.

Partner, we live in Texas and the internal combustion engine is here to stay forever, since we do not see an alternative to internal combustion engine.

If you charge to 100%. I thought they mitigated much of it if they only fast charged to 80%. It depends on battery conditioning and cooling capabilities while being fast charged. The battery accepts the fastest charge rates to around 60% and then the charge rate starts to decrease. At 80% it doesn't make much sense to charge beyond that unless you really need the range.

Yeah, there are problems. I do believe that in time these
cars are going to amaze folks. Lithium is living on borrowed
time, and after the changes coming along, batteries will
charge up much faster and get us much farther than ICE
engine have.

I’m not down on ICE vehicles. I’m not seeing a planetary
threat. That’s total BS in my opinion.

Things change and in time people move away from some things
they really like before, that no longer make sense.

Will ICE vehicles be one of them. I lean in that direction.

Look, folks from back in the 20th century won’t buy in,
but younger people this century that don’t have the real
connection that those people do, will find electric cars
to be pretty advantageous.
