How did she get the money to buy all those guns and the hundreds of rounds of ammunition? I think she owned at least five weapons. Guns are expensive.
I understand she was a part-time freelance graphic designer? Art is one of the lowest income professions in general.

I do think parents have blind spots sometimes. They don’t want to acknowledge that their kid isn’t who they think he or she is.
I’ve read that she had seven guns in the house, hidden from her mom. Two shotguns were found in a search of the home, one of which was reported as “sawed off.” It could be a legal Shockwave type weapon.
