Sorry but LOL’ing when I saw that guy look up at the murder, then return to his coffee.
Sure...start with the PM.
I’ve been killed to death...over a 100 times.
‘as witnesses cower inside’
Doubt anyone was carrying, being Canada and all.
Unless you have the fighting skills of Buffy, or some other TV hero, it’s probably unwise to bring a fist to a knife fight.
Aren’t Sikhs normally peaceful, but they’re vicious fighters if provoked?
Unbelievable. People all over. No aid. Well, I guess this DID happen at a Starbucks. Gauge the clientele I guess.
Just like when I slaughtered my pigs out in the pasture. Except the pigs would swarm over eventually to try to eat the blood covered snow. Maybe only just a step away from this in society.
“it’s probably unwise to bring a fist to a knife fight”
Definitely. Get the kids and wife out first. Everyone run like hell.
Ahh diversity.
A cup of boiling water to the face is a nice start.
They are lovely people, except when occasionally bombing passenger planes.
Many Sikhs have a sword engraved into the handles of their combs to carry out the sword requirement.
> The attack took place at the corner of Granville and West Pender streets, around 5:40 p.m., after a “brief altercation,” … <
I am in no way blaming the victim here. And I have no idea what that altercation was about. But part of situational awareness is knowing when to engage, and when not to engage.
Too many good folks have the idea that they must teach the bad guy “a lesson”. And then things really go south from there. Best to leave the lesson-teaching to the police.
As we hear ad nauseam, elections have consequences. I just wonder how much pain and suffering needs to be inflicted before people wake up. It almost seems like a sadomasochistic thang. “Hurt me more, Big Daddy Guv’ment.”
How about a chair?
Canada lacks effective “Knife Controls Laws.” If it weren’t for so many knives available a Walmart, Target, Camping stores and Home Depot... this tragedy wouldn’t have happened.
Not surprising. Vancouver is an absolute sh**hole.
The name “Singh” suggests he’s a Sikh, and traditionally-minded Sikh men — in addition to wearing a turban — always carry a curved knife called a kirpan.
“A cup of boiling water to the face is a nice start.“
Sadly on free Republic you’ll be called a phony tough talking keyboard warrior for that idea.
Knives are too accessible...
Based on my personal experience, yes to the first part. Although I've worked with and for Sikhs, I've never provoked one, so I can't answer to the last part.
I suppose if I had provoked one, I might not be around to answer to it either...
