Fisher Investments moved its headquarters from Washington state to Plano following a state Supreme Court ruling in Washington that upheld the constitutionality of a capital gains tax on the state’s wealthiest residents, the company confirmed Monday.
In a one-paragraph announcement Friday, Fisher Investments said it relocated its corporate headquarters to Texas, “in honor of the Washington State Supreme Court’s wisdom and knowledge of the law, and in recognition of whatever it may do next.”
The firm clarified in a statement Monday that while the tax decision alone doesn’t affect corporate headquarters, it is moving in what it calls an abundance of caution. It said the company’s new headquarters will be its Plano office at 6500 International Parkway in the International Business Park.
“When the Washington State Supreme Court can make extraordinary decisions and overwhelmingly so — seeming to legislate from the bench versus upholding the state constitution — that could allow for anything in the future and probably will,” the company said. “We won’t wait until they impair us, inconsistent with basic concepts of the law, before protecting everyone’s interests.”
The company, founded in 1979 by investing guru Ken Fisher, has over 1,200 workers in Dallas-Fort Worth and 4,200 in the U.S.

This might be the most epic “‘Eff Off” public statement I’ve ever seen. LOL.
Tragic.
And despite their statement, that and their wives will hate Texas, vote democrat.
Yea it is and why I posted. EFF OFF in all caps...
Maybe but some of the transplants Ive met lately (women included) love it here and seem to be gaining understanding of why things work better here.
As a citizen of Washington I applaud this move. Bravo.
Paywall
Same here in Florida. We may be getting many dims in these moves but it appears that many many more conservatives are making the move than libs.
No worries. Washington can just replace them with more homeless and illegals, both groups adding significant value, quality of life and tax base.
I may have to look into investing with Fisher.
How many other people —with or without employees are moving—we may never know.
As a life time accounting person—I applaud them.
The migration we see from blue to red states speaks to citizens voting with their feet, i.e., with their moving van.
New neighbors down the street rolled up on a Saturday last summer and before they even started unloading the dad hung a Gadsden flag over their front porch—and this is a very upper middle/upper class area in a country club
Their cali license plates were all replaced by the following Monday evening
I think a significant percentage of the refugees are people who just couldn’t take it anymore and are willing to deal with the weather and all to not be in that environment anymore
conservatives usually have the means to move... unlike libs
Last time I checked there were 1500 people A DAY moving to Florida from other states........the number of out of state license plates just in my town alone is mind boggling.
I just hope they left their leftist voting habits and asinine driving habits back in the states they came from....but I can already tell they still drive like A-holes.
Just be glad flag wasn’t rainbow...
So schadenfreude bit them in the rear! Too bad they did not stand behind their believes and stay in Washington State……..
