National Public Radio issued a correction to their tweet that proclaimed there is "limited scientific evidence of physical advantage" trans male athletes have over female athletes after the international governing body for track and field banned trans athletes.
The World Athletics Council said the ban is in place after the organization conducted their own research that showed biological males had an advantage over females, though pro-LGBT+ groups claim their research was flawed.
NPR's original tweet was shared widely on Twitter, with many users posting links to studies showing what the World Athletics Council found to be accurate. The tweet had a Community Note posted under it with links to multiple studies. The tweet has since been deleted.
On Sunday, NPR again tweeted the story with a correction underneath:

Similar to the original tweet, a Community Note was posted to NPR's correction:
"A major study by the British Journal of Sports Medicine suggest that trans identified males retain an advantage over women." The links are to a story by NBC News about the issue and the study it was based on.
It's not just about testosterone, @npr. It's about the SRY gene on the Y chromosome organizing a whole evolved suite of adaptive hormonal, gene-regulatory, morphological, & physiological adaptations throughout life that constitute being biologically male.

This “transgender” phenomenon is truly weird, and you’ve got to wonder what’s going on in the world-view of liberals that they are not only willing, but actually eager to buy into it.

This points to the obvious truth: men are biologically stronger/faster than women. The disparity between the successful "trans women" vs. "trans men" in sports proves the point.
Well at least Bruce Jenner did compete against men......So does that mean they all lost to a "girl"?
I agree with them. There is limited scientific evidence. But it is limited by how much research has been done on this matter, not whether or not it is true. For that matter, there is also only limited research supporting the Newtonian model of gravity.

Women are very competitive with their own competitions and being a working part of team sports that don’t require much one on one competitions. Women at the elite levels of sports are not blessed with the right body possibilities. Strength, bone structure, cardiovascular capacity, and healing time are drawbacks to women competing with the men. So re-creating a man to what is perceived to be a woman is the same.
In any of the sports that require physical strength, especially the strength for combat sports that require contact and healing like football, ice hockey, and basketball, women cannot compete with men by the design of the sport. And any sport that requires elite muscle needs, which encompasses almost all sports, places it beyond women’s possibilities by design. This is why there aren’t many sports in which women compete with men based upon individual performance.

Men and women are different. One is not the other. Each has different strengths and weaknesses. One cannot wish oneself into the other sex. Dressing like the other sex and slicing organs does not transform a person into the other sex.
Basic facts of science. It’s unfortunate that we get fired/trashed/fined/canceled for saying the truth publicly.
Because it is primarily men wanting to be women, they see them as poor effeminate individuals who are so oppressed. Um, they are geeks that were never able to accept who they are, so pretending to be women and demanding that we accept them with this weird personality. And the whole trans thing defies science and biology. It is a fantasy, and a fetish that they are living out and demanding rights for this mental condition. And knowing that the majority of the progressive movement is filled with people who live out fantasies, they fit right in.
