"Martinez and Stanford President Marc Tessier-Lavigne sent Duncan a formal letter of apology, saying they were 'taking steps to ensure that something like this does not happen again.'

I'm sure that 1/2 day session will prevent a "heckler's veto" from happening again.

Should be required in every school that gets Federal dollars for every freshman class.

Well, it is a start. They should also be put on probation for a year or until they graduate. And required to politely attend all 1st amendment speakers. Maybe invite Trump to speak?

How many hours of diversity training is undone by four hours of free speech training?

Perhaps a good old fashioned harsh life lesson is required. One way or another, sooner, but probably later, that will happen.

As befits a law-school head, Martinez presented a lengthy legal argument as to why the First Amendment, which California law applies to Stanford, does not permit a “heckler’s veto” over speech the heckler does not like, especially in the case of “a university classroom setting for a guest speaker invited by a student organization.” Stanford policy, too, prohibits such behavior.

Since Stanford policy prohibits such behavior all those that participated should have been immediately suspended, bet it would not happen again. This BS class is too little too late.

Justice delayed is Justice denied.

New law schools are clearly needed.

Also, law school should not be so expensive.

The class will be taught by a militant low IQ DEI specialist. These people are full of hatred for white people.

Sure hope they include Virginia State Board of Pharmacy v. Virginia Citizens Consumer Council, Inc., 425 U.S. 748 (1976). In commercial speech, the First Amendment includes the Right to Hear. Just think about all the Pfizer, Moderna, Ivermectin, etc. speech that was shut down and “disappeared”.

They’ll instantly begin creating a ruckus at these half-day sessions which will require that they attend a full-day session. That’ll learn ‘em.

What a joke. It might be more instructive for Stanford Law to re-evaluate its low admissions standards, starting with banning septum rings, purple hair, and emotional twelve year olds.

Get rid of this position:
Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Tirien Steinbach
Forget training the students. The faculty needs fixing.
