The guy is claiming brain damage that severely changed his personality after the accident, but he had told his doctor three weeks before the accident that he “suddenly felt old” and he was taking like 8 medications and over 40 daily supplements at the time. He already had almost complete loss of vision in one eye at the time of the accident. He had a doctor that testified about some spots on his brain that appear on an MRI and said “this is damage caused by the accident” but the defense showed him an older MRI from before the accident that had the same exact spots. It’s a very, very weak case.
+1 yep, she doesn’t seem too bright, but sounds like this guy wants a pay day.
Oh, the other thing, and I think this is a big one, is that the day of the accident, he emailed his daughters and in the email he said “I’m famous now” and he included a link to some GoPro footage. One of his daughters, several hours after receiving that email, replied to him that it was so crazy that this was all captured on GoPro. Today, everyone on his side either claims not to remember the existence of any footage or not to remember what was in that footage.
On Friday, the defense said that someone on their side had been able to access the link in the last couple of days, so they were supposed to talk about that in chambers. That would be crazy if they were able to gain access to actual video of the crash.
The only eye witness who was skiing with the doctor testified that he saw Paltrow run into the back of the doctor and knock him down, land on his back, then bounce off about 10 ft to the side. Then she left the scene without uttering a word.
But we all know how often sex assaults happen on the ski slopes. 😆
I’m not sure. Given all of the testimony so far, this is a hard one to figure out.
At first, I was going with Sanderson. He seemed more plain and straightforward, while Paltrow always seemed to be playing to the cameras.
But that’s what actors do - not all, but a lot of the best ones don’t really have much ‘self’ of their own or personal authenticity; and that’s actually what makes them good at what they do. They are able to put on what they think should be appropriate.
I’m going to wait for more evidence to make a decision.
(At any rate, it’s not up to our little peanut gallery here, but to the Jury.)
