A lawyer who attempts to draw an inference by a 5th amendment plea would be sanctioned. It’s a violation of a constitutional right.

They don’t need to draw inference, but they do need to get them on record in front of the jury taking the 5th.

It would really be interesting if the defense had video of the defense working with the GVT spy, play that video in court and ask if it was true testimony.

Honest question. Can a person employed by the federal government plead the 5th in a criminal trial?

I know Lois Lerner did, but that was just a congressional hearing.
