An up-and-coming fashion designer who dressed Lady Gaga and other celebrities was murdered in her Manhattan apartment with a lethal cocktail of fentanyl and other drugs last year, cops and reports said Friday.
A neighbor spotted Kathryn “Katie” Gallagher’s keys dangling from the door of her apartment on Eldridge Street on the Lower East Side and entered to check on her — then discovered her lifeless body face up on her bed, a police source said.
The mysterious death of Gallagher, 35, was classified as a homicide Friday after the medical examiner determined that she died from acute intoxication from the combined effects of fentanyl, ethanol and the designer opioid p-Fluorofentanyl.

On Law and Order Season 8 I saw last night, Det. Lenny Briscoe (the late, great Jerry Orbach) is informed the dead woman was up and coming in fashionable New York circles he says: “Not any more.”
A member of a violent Manhattan robbery crew that targets patrons at Big Apple nightclubs — including gay bars — has been arrested and charged with murder in the overdose deaths of two partygoers, police said Thursday.
Kenwood Allen, 33, is allegedly part of the vicious gang that has been drugging inebriated revelers and robbing them — with at least 26 attacks since March.
“They target their victims leaving bars, offering drugs in some cases, then either through force or when the victim passes out, they remove jewelry, money, high-end watches and phones from their victims,” NYPD Chief of Detectives James Essig said at a press briefing.
Police said the crimes turned deadly when two of the victims overdosed and died after partying at Lower East Side night spots.
Allen — who has 17 busts on his rap sheet — is charged in the March 18 death of Nurbo Shera at a club on Seventh Street, and the death of Ardijan Berisha at 52 Ludlow St. on July 30, Essig said.
“We don’t particularly think that they’re targeting gay members,” Essig said. “This is based solely on monetary gain.”

Patton Oswalt looks to have killed his true-crime writer wife named Michelle McNamara with drugs in her coffee. Adderall, Xanax and Fentanyl were found in her system.
He then married another woman later that he had been messaging back and forth with for several months before his wife died. This is something a Lt. Colombo would look into.

She had to be so talented and driven to get to the top of NYC fashions. Then she accepted drugs from a stranger outside a bar or other venue. Dumb and fatal!
They’re going to have to make certain adjustments to the suspects as usual.
Good point. If she was inebriated, her guard might have been down...but the murderers must have been clever at presenting themselves as friendlies.

If someone murdered me I would want Logan on the case.
