Skilled Migrants Aren’t Interested in Germany

Germany faces a fundamental migration dilemma. Refugees from poor and war-torn countries flock to it as a haven while skilled professionals from outside of the European Union—workers the German economy sorely needs—tend to shun it.

“We need labor and skilled worker immigration from third countries,” Vanessa Ahuja of the German Federal Employment Agency told German media, referring to non-EU countries. It should be clear, however, that this offer isn’t meant for the often impoverished, undereducated refugees fleeing countries like Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq. These nationalities constituted most of the nearly 250,000 asylum applicants last year. The newspaper Bild reflects the ire of many ordinary Germans: “They are often without proper education, without a job. But they have the right to welfare support, housing, clothing.”

Yet, in a dark irony, Germany, badly needs qualified workers to fill around 778,000 vacancies. The list of the sectors crying out for help, according to a foreign ministry portal, is sprawling: manufacturing; natural sciences; information technology; air transport; and energy technology; construction; architecture; and surveying and building technology.

This list doesn’t even include vacancies in education, child care, tourism, gastronomy, and retail. Parents of school-age children in Berlin are furious about the spotty cover of teachers. Every week, school kids’ schedules are perforated with gaps left by missing—some temporarily, some permanently—staff. Two-thirds of schools are short of teachers. Many hotels, restaurants, department stores operate with the bare minimum of staff, judging by the number of “help wanted” signs in windows and the time it takes to be waited on.

German Finance Minister Christian Lindner recently experienced an embarrassing moment in Accra, the capital of Ghana, in Western Africa, when not a single college student in a full auditorium raised a hand when he asked who would consider working in Germany. “Oh, wow! Okay,” Lindner responded.

Must have been 2 or 3 years ago, but there was a reporter who had looked at several thousand mid-east immigrants in Germany, only a single immigrant had been hired for a professional level job. The rest could barely read or write, some couldn’t read or write at all. They had zero qualifications to hold any kind of job in modern society.

With Germany’s ban on fossil fuels, there won’t be much industrial activity in the country, No more Wirtshaft Wunder, hence no more Gastarbeiter required. Hence, Turkey go home! Germany without industry is like Saudi Arabia without oil or France without wine or Italy without pasta. Life will desist.
St. Greta rules.

I’ll just tell this story...around 8 years ago, here in Germany, I took a German language class. Class was 90-percent migrants.

We had a Afghan gal (late 20s), who had a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (her husband had the same background). She had gone in the middle of the 2nd course to the job-center (run by the gov’t). She was expecting to take four of the language classes, and she’d be accepted as a math teacher.

‘No’ was the response of the gov’t job-center. ‘We won’t accept your degree’. Basically they told her that she’d have to go to a German university and repeat the entire program over. She had zero desire to waste four years of her life over again.

She ended up having a conversation with a regional university here, and they (the college) were willing to test-out her background on some things. She got the impression that it might only be 2 years of German study involved, with them paying the living expenses/housing of the couple.

It repeats over and over....same treatment for Russians, Turks, etc.

Have more babies

Babies detract from opulent lifestyles.

IMHO, babies and dogs and a loving marriage are markers of the best possible life.

Germany suffers from the same problem as the United States. It has a huge welfare state that supports a large number of people who don't work and have no intention of ever working. These people aren't accounted for in the official unemployment rates because they're not looking for work. They're people who given their druthers will live on the welfare state for the rest of their lives. The politicians won't dare to kick them off of welfare because they'll lose their votes.

Germany has plenty of native born people to fill jobs but they don't want to work and no one will make them, they'll just keep collecting their welfare and being general parasites upon society. The government then claims they need to import third worlders to fill jobs (sound familiar?). The third worlders bring a host of other problems with them, they generally don't integrate into civil society and the family members that show up with them usually end up on the welfare state and increase crime levels. In the end they break down german society just as hispanic third worlders have broken down American society.

The reality is that importing cheap labor from third world countries costs many times more in the long run in societal decay than it ever pays through their cheap labor. It's a deal with the devil but it benefits the politicians in the short term so they're happy to watch their country being slowly destroyed to have the cheap labor, just as we've done in the U.S.

Leave it to the Germans to get it all wrong. The Ukrainians are White Christian Europeans....ie people who would be vastly easier to integrate and who could at least help to cover for Germany’s extremely low birthrate. So naturally Germany refuses to allow them to stay permanently.

Instead they take in a lot of middle eastern muslims who are completely at odds with German culture. Beer and Brats for muslims anyone? Yeah....didn’t think so. The latter are just a huge drain on resources and that’s all they will ever be.

That sums up our illegal alien issue today, this unending wave of human effluent pouring across our borders. The only thing most of them have to contribute to our society is their DNA.

Good for Germany, for not accepting her garbage degree from an Afghani University.

Ronald Reagan: “Unemployment insurance is a paid vacation”.

Made me angry at him. I was on unemployment at the time.

Hahaha. Merkel’s policies removed work visas from skilled workers and professional workers (like me) to make room for her third world pets. Enjoy the mess. The fantasy was all these rapefugees would work and pay taxes so Fritz can enjoy their pensions and free medical care. Back to work Fritz. Muhammed has ten kids to feed and won’t work. I forget where I read the stat but something like 97% of every third world immigrant is on welfare and will not work.
