What this pill doesn’t account for is the remarkable level of support Trump has among registered DEMOCRATS.

This is the dilemma facing the GOP. There’s no Republican presidential candidate on the horizon who can replicate this. I can pretty much guarantee you that a Republican candidate managed and manicured by the GOP establishment is never going to get any traction among Rust Belt Democrats the way Trump did.

I’ve given up on the Republican party. I will ALWAYS vote for Trump. I won’t vote for anyone else again.

I'm in the same boat. The republican party has a sucking chest wound. They have refused any attempt at plugging that breach, so they can live or die of their own accord. We will never win a battle with the communist left so long as eGOP stands in our path.

Gimme a break. He was completely humiliated in 2022 with his claim “the levee is going to break” and his testimony for Kari Lake wasn’t impressive either. He’s clearly loved by Trump supporters for what he claims is going to happen, when in reality it’s been a string of defeats.

I refused to vote for Romney because of the stories going round about his getting animals for experimentation under what I consider fraud by not saying what he was doing. No idea if it was true or not, but it was horrifying enough that NOTHING would have made me vote for him on the chance that it was true.

You have a logical view of an unfortunate reality.

Give me a break. The obvious fraud that went on in Arizona is the only race he was clearly wrong about. He said Oz wasn’t winning Pennsylvania and Walker wasn’t winning Georgia. His testimony for Kari Lake was definitive. You keep talking about a “string of defeats” yet Trump won in 2016, the Republicans gained Senate seats (thanks to Trump) in 2018 and took back the House in 2022.

Great post. I may not agree with it all, but it lays it out pretty good.

The bottom line is you can’t trust ANY of these national politicians, once they get to that level. The fawning I see over Trump by his base is worse than it was for Obama, that I didn’t think could b e topped. Yet he rarely even delivers on his promises.

We’re seeing how that’s beginning to destroy our party, and make it more like the Democrats every day, with empty promises designed to placate us. Trump is the worst, but Matt Gaetz is slowly turning into a great example. While Matt is probably my favorite Republican, lately he’s turned into a baby Trump, making all these ridiculous promises he has no chance of ever making happen.

Gaets knows it’s all BS when he puts all these symbolic bills up for vote, and I don’t mind that on occasion, but from a practical standpoint, it’s a complete waste of time. But he and Trump do it because it gets them support from the masses who don’t realize it’s all just for show.

Well I don’t need any phony showmanship or acting in my politics. Get the job done, like Gaetz did when he held out for those rule changes, and get these WWE promoters like Trump back to their reality TV jobs, before he spoils any more of our good apples. There are a few, but they never seem to last.

Which POTUS was as successful as Trump? Look at what Trump accomplished:

  1. Gas price per gallon was about $2.30;
  2. Inflation about 1.4%, mortgage rates were half of what they are now;
  3. Unemployment was low before Covid and before Blue Governors shut everything down and we were in the midst of a V-shape recovery until January 22, 2021;
  4. Tax decrease; tax laws promoted small businesses as well as large;
  5. US enjoyed energy independence - No Green Agenda, no war on energy, No Paris Treaty;
  6. No war in Ukraine, no threat of nuclear war, NATO paid its way;
  7. China was quiet and we were winning the trade war;
  8. US companies were bringing home the jobs due to well executed tax treatments;
  9. Peace in the Middle East aka Abraham Accords; US Embassy moved to Jerusalem; and Iran was isolated.
  10. Got three non-left “I don't know what a woman is” Supreme Court Justices on the bench allowing Roe vs Wade to be overturned.

Who the heck can accomplish the above in four years while being impeached twice and investigated by Obama's Weaponized Agencies?

You are the worse TDS hack we have to put up with. When Desantis gets crushed, like Cruz before him, I hope you slink away to whatever septic system you crawled out of.

Trump did good his first two years when he had the Republican Congress, I’ve always said that, and have thousands of posts here supporting him at that time.

Things started going down for him when he issued the Executive Order banning bump stocks, and his last year in office was the worst year for America in 50+ years.

He wants to blame China for everything related to Covid, and act like the words gain of function don’t even exist, which was restored while he was President. Add in trying to subvert the Constitution on J6, then making off with $250M that was donated to him to secure elections, and I don’t see him the same anymore.

Those are the biggest issues facing us now and he failed miserably. So he’s certainly not worthy of the type of fanaticism you exhibit, which is why my posts seem to upset you so much.

Unless 2020 gets fixed Jesus Christ couldn’t get elected on the Republican ticket in 2024. Trump knows this. I believe he has a plan to fix it.

I AGREE. Voters who do not back the Republican will elect a Democrat. I trust they will enjoy the Democrat government.

I like Vivek Ramaswamy. He will make a national name for himself in the Republican debates.

Then I want him to win 2028.

Ok, think I’m nuts look up his resume and writings.

From what I have seen from him so far I am in agreement with you. If he truly is what he looks like now he could be a real, pro-American, successor to Trump.

DeSantis has done some good for Florida but I will not jump on his bandwagon. He is too much of a politician (I always use that word as an epithet) and after his smug answer calling himself an administrator, or something of that nature, you know he will bend and make bad deals. Heck, he hasn't gotten the Florida legislature to dump those unconstitutional Red Flag laws.

He has been in politics too long and I think he has done what he has done only because it gets him elected and he would flush the USA down the toilet if he thought the votes were there.

Again, he is nothing more than a politician.

I agree.

I am already committed to sitting this out. I am from MA, my vote doesn’t count here. There is no sense voting in Federal Elections.

I know my selectmen. They are the only ones I can even begin to influence. And it is they who set my property taxes.

It’s sad, but that is the US today. It’s all local.

Regardless, it’s a fact and the GOP cannot win without them

So what?

Their guy has a hard EV ceiling and it's <270.

It doesn't matter what they say or do.
