Gov. Ron DeSantis to Newsmax: Forget Trump Ticket, I'm 'an Executive Guy'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not making any presidential campaign announcements before the end of his state's legislative session, but he is sure talking like he will be throwing his hat in the 2024 GOP presidential primary race.

And, he told Newsmax in an exclusive interview Thursday night, you can forget about him working with former President Donald Trump.

"I think I'm probably more of an executive guy," DeSantis told "Eric Bolling The Balance." "I think that you want to be able to do things. That's part of the reason I got into this job is because we have action.

"We're able to make things happen, and I think that's probably what I am best suited for."

Host Eric Bolling asked, since DeSantis has yet to announce — current Florida law would force him to step down as governor if he did — would he entertain an invitation from a prospective GOP-nominee Trump to be his vice president?

He laughed it off with the response above.

Trump cannot seriously claim that he and he alone is uniquely qualified to take on the swamp when he repeatedly lost to them

Good, he's staying put as Governor then I suppose.

We will see. There is a long way to go, and many Debates. Again, Trump is not owed the Nomination. DeSantis CAN win the General.

You really think that Trump can beat Biden? The name of the game is to win. Put a 44 year old DeSatnits against an 81 year old Biden on the stage.

I can’t even imagine calling myself a conservative and supporting this nonsense.

Trump is a threat to conservative principles, not a proponent of them.

So I don’t even trust his motives anymore, which only seem to be about whipping people up into an emotional frenzy. Which is exactly how true conservatives see Democrats, as emotional creatures, not mindful people capable of actual thought. As you said, no self-respecting people will want to be a part of his candidacy, except those who are attracted to unbridled power, who could care less about whether it’s morally founded or not.

He used to flip back and forth between werewolf and normal person mode, but now he’s just full on werewolf. All his crazy antics actually hurt him in the grand scheme, he just does it because his followers lust for it.

Is not a vax, and how do you know the “ vax “ saved anyone?

Statistics. Those who have been “vaxed” are less likely to die from COVID than those who haven’t.

I know. Ridiculous, right? Trump has been running a billion dollar company for, probably over 50 years. But Ron claims HE’S the executive. It’s laughable.

Those who have been “vaxed” are less likely to die from COVID than those who haven’t.

Those statistics are wrong, as they only ever counted people who sought medical treatment for covid, which most non-vaxxed people do not.

In other words, there are COUNTLESS cases of unvaccinated people who got covid, and were perfectly fine, but were never counted in the stats.

Newer studies are coming out as well, some even in countries that are close to 100% vaxed like Israel, that show the likelihood of death goes up with the vaccine, especially if you receive boosters.

Just pointing out the flaws in your logic. You’re constantly moving the goalposts. When you lose an argument, you change your position and pretend it never happened. Your refusal to even discuss David Rubin’s comments is a perfect example.

You’ve been posting to this board, for the past month, how bad Trump is on gay marriage and how much better DeSantis is on the subject. You point, not to any specific legislation Trump implemented on the issue, but to comments he’s made. Now that DeSantis has demonstrated he’s comfortable congratulating a gay couple on their two adopted babies, you don’t want to talk about it anymore.

It’s fruitless to have a rational discussion with you because you’re constantly changing you positions. When you’re so willing to abandon your positions, it’s clear that your dislike for Trump and embrace of DeSantis isn’t based on their policies, but on personal like and dislike of the two candidates.

And BTW, thanks for not personalizing things. /s

Well then, the cheating has to be destroyed. Do you believe Biden legitimately got 81 million votes and by that measure is the most popular president in US history??

I addressed this, as some sort of internet gossip, that I don't see worthy of factual-izing to any degree. I said if you want to bring up internet stories there are many much worse about Trump.

You haven't disproven anything I've ever said, that I'm aware of. Usually because I bring factual links, not some YouTuber like you presented.

You seem to be confused. The statistics on how many people died from COVID and whether they were vaxed or not has nothing to do with unreported cases where people caught COVID and recovered.

“In other words, there are COUNTLESS cases of unvaccinated people who got covid, and were perfectly fine, but were never counted in the stats.”

Why would these people be counted in death statistics? You need to take a course in logic.

You would obviously have to know how many people did NOT die, in total, to determine an accurate percentage representation of how many people DID die. This would be for both the vaxxed, and un-vaxxed sets. I see stats is not your strong suit.

LOL “beat them at their own game”. Become criminals to beat criminals. Never mind still acting as if there are two distinct parties between the Republicans and Democrats—we are under one-party rule.
