Gov. Ron DeSantis to Newsmax: Forget Trump Ticket, I'm 'an Executive Guy'

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is not making any presidential campaign announcements before the end of his state's legislative session, but he is sure talking like he will be throwing his hat in the 2024 GOP presidential primary race.

And, he told Newsmax in an exclusive interview Thursday night, you can forget about him working with former President Donald Trump.

"I think I'm probably more of an executive guy," DeSantis told "Eric Bolling The Balance." "I think that you want to be able to do things. That's part of the reason I got into this job is because we have action.

"We're able to make things happen, and I think that's probably what I am best suited for."

Host Eric Bolling asked, since DeSantis has yet to announce — current Florida law would force him to step down as governor if he did — would he entertain an invitation from a prospective GOP-nominee Trump to be his vice president?

He laughed it off with the response above.

It’s a much different country than it was during Reagan’s time.

That doesn’t excuse Trump’s Anti-DeSantis jihad. That only helps Biden’s puppeteers.

I get the impression a lot of folks here learned about the 1970s and 1980s from their leftist ‘social studies’ teacher in elementary school.

I lived them.

Jus’ sayin’.

LOL...not sure why the highwaters, with Ron McSaintus.

I’m not the least bit worried about Trump’s age. He runs circles around others who are almost half of his age....mentally, and, physically.

Regarding the See 👁 A .... why meet trouble half way, with worry? Pres Trump is willing to sacrifice his honor, fortune....cover him in prayer, support him.

Remember “Voodoo Economics”, and then he became Reagan’s VP.

It’s a Campaign. They are nasty things. Always have been, always will be.

“Voodoo Economics”

Talk issues all you want. Be as blunt, even inflammatory, as you like ...WHEN YOU'RE TALKING ISSUES. I'm all for that.

Save the personal insults for the actual enemy. And be very sparing with them even in that context.

People who trash Trump are helping the 'Rats. People who trash DeSantis are helping the 'Rats.

What he’s trying to say is he’s really more of an establishment guy. 😏

Would that he had Trump’s humility.”

Yes that is funny and obvious. I was waiting for that reaction. Trump is Trump, Trump has always been Trump. His lack of humility is part of his identity. DeSantis does not wear it well. I do believe he would a great President. I would prefer to see his Presidency start in 2024.

The only FU money Trump wants to spend is that that he can get 50 and 100 dollars at a time from his working-class supporters donating to his grifting PACS.<P)

It makes me sick.

“No one is owed the nomination”, “DeSantis hasn’t announced he’s running”

Owed? You are correct. If politicians want to run, have at it - and ruin your future chances. Trump is the most popular candidate amongst voters. No other has his numbers left or right. Is it enough to win the general? Probably not. Democrat voters will vote for a banana. Independents vote for shiny toys. Republican voters criticize each other and then hold their nose when voting after eliminating the best candidates they had.

DeSantis has not announced. My point is that he will lose the primary if he runs, plain and simple. Like it or not.

Note, per your initial response “You mad bro?”, not a bro, not mad and not surprised by your lack of understanding or silly response. If you can’t debate effectively……well, you’ve made that very apparent. You’re wasting your time here.

Thank you! And yes his crowds will be larger than Bidens but nowhere close to Trump’s.

Don’t you understand....he was always playing four-dimensional chess and we mere mortals just didn’t get it! All those times Trump shot himself in the foot were really massive wins! /s

Seriously, at this point, who in the world would ever work for Donald Trump? Try to imagine an actual Trump second term. (and you will have to imagine it, because in no way is it ever happening).

Every single working relationship the dude had while he was president ended with Trump denouncing the very people he hand-chose for the job. What accomplished, competent person would want to work for such a man?

That's why the landscape of Trump World right now is littered with grifters and hacks. Those are the only people that will still professionally associate with him

How did Trump's battle with the swamp go?

It looks like they bested him at every turn.
