Here's a side note to your post -- I recently found this youtube clip of George Beverly Shea explaining how and why he wrote the music for the hymn "I'd Rather Have Jesus".

Thank you for the link. I don’t remember ever hearing how this song came about before. It’s is a magnificent song, perfectly paired to How Great Thou Art. One is praising God, the other is about the personal relationship with Him, as is His Eye is on the Sparrow.
