All of the Russian modern tanks have the same problem based on a design choice they made about 60 years ago - an autoloader with ammunition and propellant stored on the bottom of the turret. When a top attack munition penetrates the top armor of the turret there is a very high probability that the jet will hit one of the propellant charges or one of the high explosive round warheads. You get a propellant fire that spreads extremely rapidly or an immediate detonation of the HE round. It made sense to do this when all the hits were expected to be from flat trajectory fire, but the top attack approach has been a real game changer.
