Those old labels are obsolete. Conservative used to mean “protectionist”. Then it meant “free trade”. And that’s just one example. Trump broke the old paradigms. He’s not “conservative,” but Trump-ian. DeSantis should have stayed in his lane. He could have run and won in 2028 with Trump’s endorsement. His political capitol consisted of running Florida the way a state should be run. Now he’s lost credibility, because he was only doing that as a stepping stone for his ego trip.
Yes, because as someone who’s been on this site for nearly 30 years, I’m a raging liberal. Yes, the guy who voted for Alan Keyes in a primary is uncomfortable because someone is “too” conservative.

Desantis is not coming off as authentic. More I see of him, the less I believe him… has nothing to do with policy claims.
There are people in this world who say what they mean and mean what they say, I am not getting that vibe from Desantis, vibe is far more what I felt and witnessed from folks like OZ or Clinton, or countless other politicians trying to play a role.
Has nothing to do with his policy stands, has to do with his mannerisms and non verbal cues…
