The police who responded to a mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, last May held off on confronting the shooter inside the classroom out of concern over the AR-15 rifle he used, according to a report.
A new investigation from the Texas Tribune found that officers decided that “immediately confronting the gunman” and the assault-style weapon “would be too dangerous,” although some of the officers on-scene were equipped with the same rifle.

They probably didn’t like the color of the rifle. Black spooks some people.

Rank cowardice. These same despicable cowards persecuted and harassed a woman who ran into the school unarmed to rescue her kids.

Can someone explain this to me??? Why?? Because the first officers on the scene were wearing body armor that was only rated for pistol rounds.
SWAT later showed up with body armor rated for rifle rounds, but they didn't go in either.
Basically, they weren't prepared to actually perform the life-threatening duties that they signed up for.

I thought they were told to stand down. They wanted / needed a high body count.

The video was sickening, showing the one cop checking his phone, and another using the hand sanitizer, as they waited for what exactly?
To: ChicagoConservative27
How would they know what kind of rifle he had - unless they “confronted” him, and/or had a clear shot at him?

The held off because they are COWARDS. Good at threatening parents who tried to help their kids, but afraid to risk their precious backsides as part of the job they supposedly signed up to do.

Good thing the Germans didn’t have AR-15s at Normandy.

They’re obviously pussies that should never been on the department to begin with.
This just plays into the left’s BS on a black semi-automatic gun. To bad he didn’t just have a 223 carbine like a Ruger mini 14 rifle.

And yet, there were armed and unarmed parents who were willing to storm that building to save the kids.

Because the first officers on the scene were wearing body armor that was only rated for pistol rounds. And to think a couple decades ago very few cops had body armor. Now they need to have the proper body armor and it must be rated to match the suspect's firearms and ammunition. Times have changed.

Remember that the first officers on the scene weren't 'real' cops, they were Uvalde School District Police Officers.
The Uvalde School Police Chief then took 'command' of the scene and was ordering all the other city police, county sheriffs, and SWAT teams that showed up to stand down.
Meanwhile, teachers inside the school were still calling 911 begging for help.
