Spencer does admit that the Russian Orthodox church has been closely linked to the KGB and other Russian intelligence operations. The denials of some monks, who may well be Russian agents or sympathizers is hardly credible evidence. Don't most Islamic terrorists deny they are doing anything but practicing their religion until they take action?
So Kazan, will you condemn the actions the USA took against ISIS and other Islamic groups operating in the USA? If it is wrong for a government to shut down religious groups involved in an attempt to destroy the country isn't it also wrong for the USA to arrest people like Omar Abdel-Rahman?

Oh baloney. That would involve targeted arrests of specific people, not blanket actions and closures involving hundreds of locations and untold thousands of people. It's like closing all McDonalds restaurants because one or two store managers are suspected of running an illegal gambling ring on the side. Henry VIII didn’t close the Roman Catholic Church in England. Instead he chased them out of England and formed the Church of England using the same churches, priests, bishops and monasteries, changing worship from Latin to English. Instead of the Church in England it became the Church of England. And the Pope and Spanish monarchy went crazy!

It is an excellent article but it is addressing KGB connected Moscow church membership of what was 4% of the Ukrainian Orthodox in Ukraine, and since that number was established in July of 2022, it is probably far less than 4% today.
