More businesses abandoning Portland. And the democrat voters remain clueless as to the actual cause while blaming such economic destruction on white supremacy and capitalism.

I still can’t believe Cracker Barrel was in Portland to begin with.

They follow Walmart in leaving this third-world cesspool.

I can understand it. Going in there must trigger every white privilege brain cell of 90% of their customers.

How dare they promote a safe southern lifestyle ?!?!?!

They said “the pandemic.”

They didn’t say which “pandemic.”

Weird. The Cracker Barrel in Rialto, CA, is usually packed. The ones I’ve been to in other states usually seem to be doign a solid business. Strange that a business model the works pretty much everywhere else would flop in Oregon, but it’s a weird state.

Portland is heading for the type of status you associate with Baltimore and Philadelphia. 😒😑🙄

That will just leave more room for the locally-sourced, vegan, lesbian-coop tapas bar and yoga center businesses.

Tualatin is not exactly Portland.

It is the home of wealthy white Karens.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tualatin,_Oregon

Check out the demographics—less than 1% black.

It would be fairer to say that businesses are abandoning Oregon.

This is a state problem.

Beaverton and Tualatin are a ways from downtown Portland. I doubt it was the urban antifa or urban ghetto crowd in Beaverton and Tualatin. I haven’t seen any “smash and grab” hits on restaurants.

I remember a television quote from an emaciated resident of Zimbabwe after Mugabe had turned it from the breadbasket of southern Africa to the basket case: “White man maybe can’t jump, but he sure do know how to grow food!”

Good for them.
The only food that should be available to folks in Portland is bugs.

Of course what the article doesn’t mention is that it is a pandemic of lawlessness.

When “fwdude” mentioned Bend, I think of my children’s experience. The daughter in law went to local conference where she asked a Bend school principal about the public schools there. He said he would never send his children to a public school there.

At their local church a couple was told their son entering middle school would benefit from attending the LGBTQ, etc. club. They said no thank you and received repeated phone calls about the subject. They finally asked to attend a meeting or see the curriculum and were told they could not. At that point they received a call form the State expressing their concern. The couple quit their jobs, sold their house, and moved out of state. My son visited one of the schools and saw posters displaying what he considered cutting edge grooming language.

Too bad. I did eat at one of these Cracker Barrel locations a few years ago. Forget which one. Wasn’t in a bad area. Was outside of the Portland metro area.

I can tell you all about this. I live across the river in Washington, but grew up in Tennessee and love Cracker Barrel. There were 4 at one time, but the one just across the river in the Delta Park area was the first to close as they were paying over $10k a month for security to try to stop the shoplifters and homeless from camping on their front lawn. This sucked, as it was the easiest to get to for me. (It’s just across the freeway from where a Safeway had closed because they were losing $40k a month in theft). I’ve been to the the other 2 Portland area locations. The Tualatin one had VALET PARKING when it opened to try to cut down on the number of cars camping in front of the place. 2 hour waits were not unheard of. I never saw security guards at these other 2 locations though. And it breaks my heart that they’re closing, as Medford is 5 hours away, and is just this side of the California border.

The benefit it has that the others do not? It’s A LONG WAY from Portland. That’s the only reason I can come up with.

They were ALWAYS hiring post-pandemic. I used to chat with my waiter as he was about my age, and knew what was going on, and he said they COULD NOT get wait staff or cooks. More money didn’t help, flexible hours didn’t work. “People just don’t want to work”.
