Texas middle school students were asked to pose as 'seducing hookers' in a role-playing game
...
A Texas mother rejected an apology from her daughter's former school as "not good enough" after it took months for officials to notify parents about a teacher's "hooker" role-playing game played with students.
Laura Maria Gruber pulled her seventh grader out of KIPP Poder Academy in San Antonio after learning she was "absolutely grossed out" when her teacher had the class play a rock, paper, scissors alternative, prompting some to pose as "seducing hookers."
Gruber told "Fox & Friends First" Monday she appealed to several tiers of school leadership through the grievance process over the course of several months, but had "no idea" what she was getting into.
...
She pulled her daughter out of the school just days following the September incident, but the school did not notify parents until February of the "Bear, Hunter, Hooker" game that had her up in arms.
...
Gruber claimed the game was played in two classrooms, one being her daughter's, although the letter from Lee only addresses one teacher that encouraged students to play the game.
...
She said one class was even offered candy to motivate them to play the game.
"They were lined up in maturity level, so young as to oldest in one class, and then in another class they were lined up, or they were actually offered candy," she said. "So and it was two separate teachers in two separate classrooms."
....
They waited five and a half months after the board got angry to send a letter home with details," she continued.
The teacher in question was not fired

I wish this seemed shocking to me, but it is not.
Oh just homeschool.
>>The teacher in question was not fired
Of course she wasn’t. It’s not like she displayed a Trump sticker or used correct pronouns or anything like that.
“She said one class was even offered candy to motivate them to play the game”
A perverts favorite bait......always has been.
Another reason to homeschool.
And the teacher was never named either......this perv needs to be made FAMOUS
Home-schooling isn’t nearly as difficult as people think.
Kids spend 6-8 hours in public schools every day, wasting time doing stuff like playing “hooker” game. Add in things like accouncements/assembly, health, gym, lunch, study hall, teacher keeping discipline, etc... - real learning is probably less than 20%
I usually balk at the litigious nature of people but now I would applaud a ginormous lawsuit.
Just more grooming by the pedophiles in charge.
What's wrong with asking kids to pretend they are Congressmen and Senators?
My wife was a Catholic school teacher who encountered a girl who proclaimed “I want to be a HO!”. Child Protective Services were alerted. A home visit showed that the children were exposed to pornography. In this case, the pornographic exposure is in the schools. Decades after SIECUS infiltrated schools, the perverts learned that they could have a captive audience of victims, that they could become the foxes guarding the chicken house. Civilization is at an end-stage. Can you head for the hills? The perverts are in charge there.
Yeah, but it is free day care that somebody else has to pay for. < / sarcasm >
KIPP acknowledges in writing that the teachers behavior was inappropriate. There was no consequence as the teacher “...deeply regretted it...”.
Screw that. What exactly did this game entail? It is reasonable to demand that parents know exactly. If KIPP is hiding something, they’re complicit and equally accountable.
Assuming the worst, and we have good reason to, this teacher is demonstrating a lack of judgment and a risk to the students. No matter how mature these middle schoolers may seem, some lines should never be crossed. Someone should be fired.
Approves.
“KIPP Poder Academy”
Sending your children to public schools is child abuse.
Bear, Hunter, Hooker. We know the kids were asked to play the Hooker, and everyone knows who Hunter is, so who’s the Bear?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
I am speechless about what the reasons for homeschooling have become these days. Years ago when this list was started, the reasons were so tame by todays standards. It's stuff that almost wouldn't even get complained about these days.
How far this country has fallen.
Teachers used to be respected, not anymore!!! Where are the teachers who opposed this not speaking out!
