It does cost, and it has been paid in blood for decades. My own Father gave just a little, as he took a piece of shrapnel into his back. He was treated for the superficial wound, and returned to duty. My cousin Danny was next to a friend in Vietnam who stepped on a mine, and he broke every bone on one side of his body. No deaths in my family, but casualties. My Uncle jumped out of a landing craft at Omaha Beach. Another Uncle was a Marine in the South Pacific. A little encounter called a Beach party, island after island.

Hero’s all. That is the cost of Freedom.

I respect and appreciate your family’s service. I was referring to the spoken words themselves. Lies, misinformation, unsubstantiated derogatory claims and the like should involve real calculable out of pocket cost.

My father served as a Master Sargent in North Korea. He did his tour without a scratch.

I should have just said Korea. I don’t think he crossed the DMZ.
