I see simple signs of this all the time. This morning a problem posted onlne.
You’re 2 and your cousin is twice your age. How old will she be when you’re 40. Most people answered 80 or 60. I can explain 80 (twice as much as 40), but how do you get 60? Yes a few said 42.

I usually have to explain it to them.
I don’t mind helping with ignorance,
however, I despise stupid.
Repeatedly, I have had to help cashiers in their 20’s and even 30’s do simple math a 2nd grader could do when I was a kid.
A dumbed down nation. No competition against rising economies.
