Ever notice with computers we now have more paper? I drive through carls Jr. a receipt when you pay, a receipt on the bag where they fold it over and hand it to you to try and force the receipt into your hand, and a receipt inside the bag. Maybe it’s just me.
The more receipts you provide with the product, the better the service is and the better the product is. (spit!) Think IRS.

Your bag example is just an example of process control when many persons are in nvolved in fulfilling the order.
Receipt 1: Start of process opportunity for the customer to verify the order was input correctly.
Receipt 2: Measure to increase efficiency in identifying your order among all the others being processed at that moment.
Receipt 3: Pick/packing slip for the order for quality control and a precaution aimed at preventing the customer from claiming they were not given a receipt.
