Ukrainian forces outside the battered eastern city of Bakhmut are managing to keep Russian units at bay so ammunition, food, equipment and medicines can be delivered to defenders, the army said on Saturday.

And in the latest claim to have inflicted heavy casualties, Kyiv said its troops had killed 193 Russians and injured 199 others during the course of fighting on Friday.

Russia has made the capture of Bakhmut a priority in its strategy to take control of Ukraine's eastern Donbas industrial region. The city has been largely destroyed in months of fighting, with Russia launching repeated assaults.

But "it's over," or so we've been told over the past 9 months.

I understand 1000s of Polish troops have entered the fray. How stupid.

Wherever the border line is of the land in that area the Russians bought from the Turks should be where the end of this stupid war is.

“There must also be a complete commitment to dismantling the entire globalist neo-con establishment that is perpetually dragging us into endless wars, pretending to fight for freedom and democracy abroad, while they turn us into a third-world country and a third-world dictatorship right here at home. The State Department, the defense bureaucracy, the intelligence services, and all the rest need to be completely overhauled and reconstituted to fire the Deep Staters and put America First.” DJT 3/16/23

Not to worry. I’m sure you’ve heard that the Soros stooge NYC DA is about to indict your favorite Putin stooge. I like Soros’ division of labor. The big money stooges take out the only threat to your woke, green, pervo globalist plans while the hinterland stooges take to social media to provide cover and further subvert MAGA.

Bought? Not much buying went on, unless in the context of peace treaties after substantial bloodshed.

There were at least a dozen wars fought over this region since, say, 1600 (and I am probably underestimating this). Some of this was more or less claimed by the Turks, if only through alliances with the Tatars or others. Some was conquered by natives, Ukrainians, even if in service to the Tsars. And any such historical line, even if it can be determined, would be arbitrary and irrelevant to the current residents.

There is no simple historical line of any sort. The clearest and most legitimate (according to the political mores of the last couple of centuries) is the also-arbitrary line that held at the time that Ukraine voted for independence. That is the line that the Ukrainian nation (which exists, now more than ever) claims as its right.

Your sources of info are ... non-existent. Poland is a free country with a free press. I suggest you check them out.

Why not Polish (and Slovak) aircraft? They are the same as those the Ukrainians are already trained on and are accustomed to maintaining.

This all was in the works for nearly a year.

“WW3” is absurd. Russia can live just fine after withdrawing from Ukraine. It does not have to put a pistol to its collective head.

Hail, dingbat!

I, however, welcome the presence of our dingbat friends.
Their customs are fascinating. They are worthy of observation and analysis, that we may better understand the edge conditions of human nature.

I also note, as has become something of a ritual, that we are discussing, er, foreigners.

How many hundreds of billions did he spend? How many nukes does Syria have? Was he cleaning up one of your neocon CFs or starting the one that blunders us into nuclear war? Like I said, hinterland stooges on social media providing woke green pervo globalist cover while subverting DJT, RdS and MAGA.

Its already the US “circus”. Its been that for a very long time.

What do you think US national strategy has been since 1950? Why does the US Army maintain 20 divisions (Active and NG) equipped for a continental scale of warfare? Why does the US maintain the USN and USAF? Why all those bases, Why all those massive stocks of reserve equipment and munitions? Why all those institutions and alliances?

That isolationist horse left the barn long ago, before our fathers were born. Or our grandfathers.

“green pervo globalist cover”

There are many villains in this world, and no, they are not in some sort of united conspiracy. You have US cultural problems along with every ancient trouble of mankind. They all exist independently.
