China extracts (a better word than produces) about 4.7 million barrels per day from domestic oil fields. Theirs have been pumping for going on 80 years. Terminal decline.
So domestic production 4.7 mbps. Domestic consumption 15ish mbps. Russia pumps 11 mbps and consumes only 3 mbpd.
I can assure you, since oil is everything, China will remain the junior, not senior, partner.
Oil is not everything. Otherwise Venezuela and Saudi Arabia would be world leaders.
Russia is purely an extraction state
Not in China's mind. China is junior to no one.
BTW, China's target is the U.S., not Russia. And they are well along in implementing their takeover plan.
