By the time kids got to high school, getting up in front of the class and assuming the position was worse punishment than the paddle. Still, a few teachers had the paddle on prominent display.

Here it is 2023, I’m 67, and with all of the shit I have done in my life and all of the shit I’ve been accused of doing it still boils down to the simple fact that I have no kids in school as the deciding factor of me not being in prison.

it used to be solid conservative- Maine went woke though a few years ago as more liberals moved into the cities there- out in the country parts- it’s still majority conservative mostly-

I'd like to drive behind them in a 1957 Chevy, a Confederate flag hanging on the radio antenna with a PA system blaring Duane Eddy's "Rebel Rouser" (1958) and flash the high beams late at night and yell "Sic Semper Tyrannus!"

Seriously, it could come down to what you said, some night, some other students might clobber the heck out of them and deservedly so. I abhor violence and wish for peaceful resolutions but among this crowd there is no way but to stand up to them and back it up with the threat of force and force itself. They are bullies and my parents told me the only thing they understand is to stand up to them and fight if it came down to it. Force is the only thing they will understand.

Let me add, as an amateur radio operator and all around electronics guy who has been using a 1982 Zenith for the last 40 years as my TV, I long for the days when CRT meant “Cathode Ray Tube,” for those of yinz in Rio Linda, the glass picture tube on an old TV. I return yinnz to the normal program.

If someone creates and rewards a Gang specifically to intimidate others, that someone should not be surprised that a Group assembles to counter that intimidation.

True, it's like my father always says where "if you keep beating up on people, they will turn and beat up on you one day." One day they will pick on the wrong person or people and the mayhem will ensue and I have to say that day will be celebrated in history.
