Yevgeny Prigozhin, the combative boss of Russia’s Wagner private military group, relishes his role as an anti-establishment maverick, but signs are growing that the Moscow establishment now has him pinned down and gasping for breath.
Prigozhin placed a bet on his mercenaries raising the Russian flag in the eastern Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, albeit at a considerable cost to the ranks of his force and probably to his own fortune.
He spent heavily on recruiting as many as 40,000 prisoners to throw into the fight, but after months of grinding battle and staggering losses he is struggling to replenish Wagner’s ranks, all the while accusing Russia’s Ministry of Defense of trying to strangle his force.
Many analysts think his suspicions are well-founded – that Russia’s military establishment is using the Bakhmut “meat-grinder” to cut him down to size or eliminate him as a political force altogether.
At the weekend, Prigozhin acknowledged that the battle in Bakhmut was “difficult, very difficult, with the enemy fighting for each meter.”

Funny, I heard Defense Secretary LaLoyd Austin’s yesterday give Saint George Zelensky permission to bug out of Bakhmut. It isn’t going well.
This doesn’t feel like winning.
Whatever CNN reports, the opposite is true.
So, the Wagner troops are almost done for.
But...
the people at FR know better. Russia is winning, according to the Putin FR supporters. I’m waiting for the battle to be over, with Russia claiming victory, along with the FR Putin supporters.

Since Putin has been dead 10 times over already, at least according to the Neocon Cheerleaders, why would he worry about being arrested?
As it is, be interesting to see what happens to any country that tries arresting him.
The charges "may" be valid. But the institution is a joke. We have to beat Russia in a war. Then capture Vladimir Putin. Finally, we can charge him. Otherwise, there's no point. Even worse, we'll piss him off and he'll nuke us.
You see, even when Russia is winning, they are losing.

Exactly - and I suspect that their nukes work as well as the American cars from the 1950s do in Cuba, which is DAMN GOOD.
I can imagine a scenario where he is traveling by air, perhaps within Russia or perhaps to one of the Stans, where his plane ends up someplace unexpected and he is whisked off to the international court. I imagine Mossad has done things like that. Anyway it could make an interesting book/movie. “One of Our Dictators Is Missing.”
