I have ZERO sympathy for anyone involved in this fiasco. If the community, the parents, and their girls put up with it, they’ve made their bed and can lie in it.

Exactly.
The great irony here is that we are seeing the inevitable consequence of modern feminism. If women are supposed to be equal to men in all respects, then there is no justification to having them compete in segregated sports leagues and events. If women can compete with men for leadership roles in government and C-suite positions in corporate America, then they can surely beat them in competitive sports.
