202 views Mar 16, 2023 #russia #drone #blacksea US military officials have released a dramatic video of the moment a Russian fighter jet collided with a US drone over the Black Sea earlier this week.
The footage shared Thursday morning by the US European Command (EUCOM) was captured by the underside camera of the MQ-9 Reaper drone as one of two Su-27 fighter jets attempted to spray it with jet fuel.
On the second try, the jet collides with the drone’s rear propeller, and the screen pixelates as communication goes down.
An audio clip also purported to capture a Russian salvage team recovering the aircraft’s engine casing.
“We raised part of the object,” one voice says in the recording obtained by East to West.

Now that is a good one! Love it! Made me laugh.
“Anger is unbecoming.”
Arrogant, insistent ignorance is even more unbecoming. It took all of ten seconds for me to find comparison info for the Su-27 and F-18 to find out they have hard points on their wing tips.

You have to go right into knee-jerk lying-for-Russia mode and try to pretend that the plane was an F-18 when your Russian masters already acknowledged it was their plane.
That takes a special kind of stupid to push lies that not even the Russian leadership are bold enough to push.
Иди в баню!
“On the second try, the jet collides with the drone’s rear propeller”
The Russkie jet was nowhere near the propeller. I do not see how it would be possible to damage one tip of one propeller blade and not have a massive and fatal collision of the two vehicles.
As I noted elsewhere, dumping fuel is a well know macho Russian Air Force thing done many years ago by Russian jets on some Japanese exercise near disputed islands. Famous in the Russian Air Force.
This guy was trying (and probably succeeding) in flooding the turboprop’s engine air intake. Hit the compressor blades within and caused a sudden stop to the geared prop. That would be enough to bend a prop without any contact at all. And btw, not likely actual collision would bend only one blade. Almost impossible for that.
Pretty good pilot.
The disclaimer on the drone’s camera video clearly states:
“OBJECTS IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR ARE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR”
;-P
LOL. Nice, Megan.
Thanks for this
I imagine if a hostile nation flies surveillance/weapons drones 60 km off the Korean coast ….or off the US coastline, heading for our bases, transponders off, we might just intercept them in “ international waters”
Did they add audio from the editing studio?
Do you take legal advice from My Cousin Vinny
I thought we were already officially at WAR with Russia? Didn’t we declare WAR against Russia as soon as we started giving weapons and military aid to Ukraine? I think so, We chose a side and joined them in their war, that my friends makes US legitimate targets for Russia to attack.
With that being said, I have very little to NO confidence in anything this administration puts out or says and am more inclined to believe the russians, Crazy I know, but it is what it is.
New tactic. Fly just ahead and in front of drone, release bucket of old bolts. The prop strikes will take it out.
It sure seems odd that the video scrambles right before the 'collision', then comes back after the 'collision'. What's up with that?
Nope. Vertical stabilizers on the 27 are straight up vertical, not slanted like a FA 18. Plus the engines are closer together on the 18. The wing roots up front and engine intakes are 27.
But MeganC, here’s the big picture: “..the whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 John 5:19)
The Old Testament gives witness to God repeatedly using a less wicked nation to overthrow a more wicked nation. However, He’s going to bust it all up himself very soon.
“404 Not Found”
Yep, that’s you Jonny boy. Nothing of substance there. Nope, nothing at all. Just a fake link to a non-existent page.
Bimbos for the Deep State?
Agree and then some!
