Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy endorses DeSantis for president

DeSantis is a possible rival for President Donald Trump in the upcoming Republican primary

Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy on Wednesday endorsed Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis for president.

"The next president of the United States must be a vibrant and energetic leader with the faith, vision and courage to chart a new course," Roy tweeted. "That leader is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis."

DeSantis has not declared a candidacy to seek the 2024 GOP presidential nomination but is widely considered the top rival to former President Trump in his reelection bid.

Roy argues DeSantis has made Florida "stronger and freer" and praised the governor for sending illegal migrants this past fall to liberal-enclave Martha's Vineyard, in Massachusetts, to point out record migration to the U.S. is a national, not local, issue.

"It's time for younger, but proven, leadership to offer America eight years of solid transformational change," Roy also said in his tweet. "It's time for Ron DeSantis to be president of the United States."

Quote

...

They gonna rig 2 Presidential elections for the R’s now?

Because of 8 transformational years of Obama, we elected Trump to two terms.

All DeSantis for President is deep state boojit.

Trump doesn't need competition at this point . . . especially from someone super successful where he's at, doin' what he's doin'

Chip Roy? Is he the guy that caused all the inner party trouble selecting a majority leader? So he’s at it again?

"Chip is steadfast enough in principles..."

Yes.

Some politicians understand true loyalty.

The honest don't demand it, they demonstrate it.

Perhaps Chip Roy’s preference has something to do with his conscience. Ever thought of that?

I love Trump. But he made too many mistakes in personnel selections. Way too many mistakes that causes some to rethink their position.

Personally, I want Trump because I want my pound of flesh. But I totally understand why some want someone different.

"...surprising/disappointing..."

Labeling everyone who doesn't bow to The Don as DS is not helping your cause.

This is NOT surprising: Roy and Ron are HFC alumns. Freedom guys.

This is NOT disappointing: Roy is demonstrating true loyalty - to our cause, not to any man.

Sorry, I thought it was obvious that I was being sarcastic, especially given that I mention ChiCom cash and Roy. I don't agree with all his positions, but believe him to be a straight up guy.

Thank you for referencing that article Red Badger. Please note that the following critique is directed at Gov. DeSantis and Rep. Chip Roy, and not at you.

"Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy endorses DeSantis for president"

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Patriots beware!

Regardless that Gov. DeSandis and Texas Rep. Chip Roy swore to protect and defend the Constitution, they evidently don't understand the federal government's constitutionally limited powers.

More specifically, the peacetime Oval Office is not the most powerful office in the land like FN wants everybody to think.

The Constitution gives the states, not the federal government, the lion's share of government power to serve the people.

In fact, the congressional record shows that Rep. John Bingham, the main author of Section 1 of the 14th Amendment, had clarified that the drafters of the Constitution had trusted the states, not the feds, with the care of the people.

”Simply this, that the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Constitution, is in the States and not in the federal government [emphases added]. I have sought to effect no change in that respect in the Constitution of the country.” —John Bingham, Congressional. Globe. 1866, page 1292 (see top half of third column)

Getting back to DeSantis, or any other incumbent or former governors that wants to be president, none of them can take the state powers that they used to make their respective states thrive with them to the Oval Office to likewise make the nation thrive.

Basing federal domestic policy on stolen state powers completely defeats the purpose of a constitutionally limited power federal government.

"From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]." —United States v. Butler, 1936.

Misguided presidents and federal lawmakers have been wrongly basing"federal" policy on state powers for decades which is why we are now being oppressed under the boots of an unconstitutionally big federal government.

The only way that DeSantis and other governors can serve as many peacetime people under the Constitution as they can is to keep their governor's offices.

After Trump 47 finishes draining the swamp, especially the judiciary, and works with state and federal lawmakers to surrender state pawers that the feds have been stealing from the states back to the states, then he needs to finish his second term as peacetime president on the golf course like Obama did.

Militia readiness respected, patriots need to wise up that the peacetime, constitutionally limited power federal government is effectively lame duck 24/7/365/4 by design.

Patriots, the bottom line is this imo. What is your threshold of “pain” for peacefully stopping unconstitutionally big state and federal governments controlled by bully, constitutionally undefined political parties, from oppressing the people under their boots?

The inevitable remedy for ongoing, post-17A ratification, corrupt political party treason (imo)...

All MAGA patriots need to wake up their RINO federal and state lawmakers by making the following clear to them.

If they don’t publicly support either a resolution, or a Constitutional Convention, to effectively "secede" ALL the states from the unconstitutionally big federal government by amending the Constitution to repeal the 16th (direct taxes) and 17th (popular voting for federal senators) Amendments (16&17A), doing so before the primary elections in 2024, that YOU will primary them.

If the proposed amendment was limited strictly to repealing 16&17A, relatively little or ideally no discussion would be needed before ratification of the amendment imo.

With 16&17A out of the way, my hope is that Trump 47 becomes the FIRST president of a truly constitutionally limited power federal government.

In the meanwhile, I'm not holding my breath for significant MAGA legislation to appear in the first 100 days of new term for what may still prove to be another RINO-controlled House.

Trump will hopefully do another round of primarying RINOs for 2024 elections.
