Trump was just telling us that Pence is an honorable man. Trump knows Pence better than any of us do - I’ll take him at his word and will assume that Pence is an honorable but very misguided man. A dunce.

My thought always was that Pence is a moderately conservative GOP loyalist. Once Trump was the nominee in ‘16, he agreed to be VP, not because he was a MAGA true believer, but he thought to refuse might start an avalanche of GOPe refusing the nomination, and this would sink the GOP chances down ticket.
So, he provided lukewarm support, and ended up alienating both sides. Fate has moved on.
Although I admire President Trump a great deal and will support him fully if he runs again, from all of the traitors discovered during his term in office I am not impressed with his ability to evaluate the character of those in his “inner circle”. This is one of the very few significant weakenesses Trump has.
