For many years I had employees in Argentina, and they were some of the most exceptional people. The culture had some things America would do well to borrow from. A couple of interesting things I learned are that, in AR, doctors still make house calls, and a fast food place is more like a decent restaurant in the US. When attending a party in AR, it is fashionable to arrive late, and the party often ends over breakfast (not necessarily a positive).
What I admired most about the Argentinians was their strong family bonds. For example, an Argentinian might take a day off to attend the birthday party of their young nephew's best friend.
What the Argentinians did not have was a sense of economic conservatism, and I'm afraid that may be their (and our) undoing.

100%?
That's not inflation.
In Berlin, during the time of the Weimar Republic, a loaf of bread that sold for 160 Marks in late 1922 sold for 200,000,000,000 Marks by late 1923.
That's inflation.

We had a family friend who came from Argentina. I got to know many members of his family as he would bring them here to visit. These were wonderful folks who raised my interest in Argentina. Despite the horrible economy there, the Argentinian people have figured out how to live with it and IMHO, their lives are probably better than ours. They place a great deal of importance on family and friends and as a result, seem to be living more fulfilling lives. I tell my husband all the time, their government did everything right in front of them, ours did the same behind our back. If you're of the mind, go visit Argentina, a stunningly beautiful Country full of the friendliest people.

With the US Dollar now being ditched around the world (thanks to our Suicide Sanctions on Russia, starting with SWIFT), we’ll soon be exposed to the same pressures as other countries, like Argentina, when we try to finance our debt and deficits.
I expect BIG CHANGES here in response, including government seizure of private pension plans (they’ll be used to re-finance Social Security and Medicare), and a new Value-Added Tax (national sales tax).
...and no, they WILL get passed as the alternative will be far worse, and our government will make sure we first get a taste of that alternative.

As I recall, Macri was turning the economy around but got voted out of office a few years ago.

Now with BRICS having a larger share of world GNP than the G7
subtract out all the oil-producing countries - which account for 80-90% of that total - and what you got left?
a whole bunch of 3-world countries that don't make much
"BRICS" ain't going nowhere ...

Joe Biden is the Alberto Fernandez of America. Jill is Cristina Kirchner.
