Texas House Votes to Honor LGBTQ Advocacy Groups
Texas Scorecard ^ | 3/8/23 | Brandon Waltens

The Texas House of Representatives is continuing its pattern of passing controversial resolutions, voting unanimously to honor lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transexual chambers of commerce.

. . . the resolution was approved unanimously by a record vote, after it was packaged alongside nearly 200 other resolutions.

Specifically, the resolution honors the Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and North Texas Chambers of Commerce, citing their leftist legislative agenda:

The “comprehensive nondiscrimination legislation” referenced by the resolution refers to proposals that would allow men in women’s restrooms or prevent employers and businesses from practicing their Religious beliefs. When he was chair of the House State Affairs Committee in 2019, current House Speaker Dade Phelan supported that language, saying he was “done talking about bashing on the gay community.”

Additionally, the resolution celebrates the LGBTQ groups for being a “powerful advocate for the dignity and prosperity of all Texans.”

Ahead of the vote, the Republican Party of Texas stated they were opposed to the resolution for violating the core principles of the party.

Although Texans continue to elect Republican majorities in the Texas House, the body is effectively controlled by a coalition of RINOs and Democrats. This coalition has joined together to continually elect RINO speakers of the Texas House since 2008. In turn, the speakers appoint mostly RINOs and Democrats to head committees effectively preventing Republican priorities from being enacted. This resolution was passed despite opposition by the Republican Party of Texas and the almost unanimous majority of Republicans in Texas. Gov. Abbott's leadership on these issues is weak to nonexistent.

Honoring people for their off-center sexual proclivities is something only a society in severe moral decline would do.

The left has been targeting Texas for decades now. What’s amazing to me is how utterly impotent the opposition seems to be.

Unanimous? Not one holdout?

America’s elites’ obsession with the politics of perverse and extreme sexuality is from a historical perspective, quite extreme and bizarre.

Politically, culturally and socially speaking, they are coiling a very tight spring, which when that energy is released, will be the equivalent of an earthquake. Call that the wrath of God, if you wish.

The establishment needs to be defeated everywhere. They certainly do not reflect the values of their constituents.

Not when they see value in the 199 other resolutions.

When will we see the Legislature honor straight people? Huh? I’m waiting...

Better yet, they need to get back to doing their jobs.

“The left has been targeting Texas for decades now. What’s amazing to me is how utterly impotent the opposition seems to be.”

Well, you wouldn’t want to be called a hater now, would you?

And non-inclusive?

That’s how the left succeeds - it manages to capture the moral high ground. And we on the right simply fold.

It amazes me that the most immoral group succeeds in coming across as the most moral.
