Are we incapable of making semiconductors in the United States of America?

Is there a severe lack of 10% for the big guy?

We make the high end stuff and thanks to automation will be making the low end stuff. What we need are the mid tier chips. These do require a lot more labor inputs than the cheap chips which can be automated. Since the US is a high cost labor market, this is not something that will ever make sense to produce in the US. So some places like India and Mexico fit the bill nicely. Their labor isn’t too expensive and we can meet our needs without having to rely on China.
