SAN DIEGO (AP) — President Joe Biden is expected to sign an executive order on Tuesday aiming to increase the number of background checks to buy guns, promote better and more secure firearms storage and ensure U.S. law enforcement agencies are getting the most out of a bipartisan gun control law enacted last summer.

The Democratic president plans to unveil his latest efforts at curbing gun violence in a speech from Monterey Park, California, said a senior White House official, who discussed the order before its signing on the condition of anonymity. In January, a gunman stormed a dance hall in the community near Los Angeles and shot 20 people, killing 11, following a Lunar New Year celebration.

.....at the guns shows I frequently attend here in Texas, there are a lot of private sellers there...no background checks or BATF Form 4473 are required, just show your valid Texas drivers license or your valid License To Carry permit...is this PoS president trying to do away with private sales as well...??

In our state, even private sales need to go through an FFL. It’s not a “hardship” because average folks are not selling a ton of guns in private sales—but it’s a $35 pain in the ass when you have to do it.

So…I just don’t sell my guns. Lol.

Promising gun control is a proven measure to insure losing an election. Look up the stats on NICS checks for first time buyer the last 3 years.

It’s California . . .

. . . because of the big shooting.

Note: all his proposed stuff is already the law in CA.

And the big shooting happened anyway.

How about locking up some offenders, etc?

Increase the number of back ground checks? Chomo Joe is going to promote firearm purchases?

The bill passed last year, known as the Safer Communities Act, is viewed by gun control advocates as a good start but one that doesn’t go far enough. After the law was signed, there were 11 other mass shootings, according to a database of mass killings since 2006 maintained by The Associated Press, USA Today and Northeastern University. Those killings don’t include shootings in which fewer than four people were killed — and gun violence is also rising nationwide.

Maybe Biden can start by asking ATF, FBI, and DOJ to prosecute his son Hunter for perjury on his 4473 background check. He could direct them to fix the background check system to prosecute illegible people that try to buy guns.

They refused to allow him to do that

They revoked his FFL and wouldn’t budge on reinstating it, no matter what he tried

Thanks. I always thought that quote came from Obama. He signed 42 executive orders in the year 2016, his last in office.

FJB signed 37 executive orders in his first week in office.

Our nation’s death has been by a thousand strokes of a pen.
