While it was unrealistic for people to expect him to overturn the election Pence made no effort to highlight the myriad voting “irregularities” that severely eroded people’s confidence in our elections. There were problems and he largely ignored them, along with their implications for future elections. He had a brief (and historic) “bully pulpit” opportunity to encourage the country to clean up the system. His refusal to do so was simply inexcusable.
The moment arrived and he walked away from it.
