Five Democrats who may retire ahead of 2024 Senate elections as GOP seeks control

Five Senate Democrats could retire ahead of the 2024 elections in America, relinquishing their seats to fresh faces as Republicans seek to gain control of the upper chamber.

Following the retirement announcements of two prominent Senate Democrats earlier this year, the question remains over which other senators will step aside and forgo what could be a potentially bruising round of elections for the party as Democrats seek to defend a majority of the seats up for grabs next cycle.

Last month, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., became the latest senator to announce she would not seek re-election in 2024, following in the footsteps on Sen. Debbie Stabenow, D-Mich., who announced last month that she would relinquish her seat in the upper chamber when her term expires in 2025.

A total of 34 Senate seats - 20 currently held by Democrats, 11 currently held by Republicans, and 3 currently held by independents - will be up for grabs next cycle. The three independent senators currently caucus with Democrats in the Senate, meaning Democrats will be tasked with defending 23 of the 34 seats in 2024 if they wish to maintain their majority in the legislative body.

Of the 20 Democrat-held seats up for election, seven are in states won by former President Trump in either 2016 or 2020. Republicans, however, will not be defending any seat in a state won by President Biden, unlike the 2022 midterms where the most competitive races were in states Biden won: Nevada, Pennsylvania, Georgia and Arizona.

Their statements stab us in the back but they can support us with their votes most of the time. I think Tillis, Mittens, even that Sasse fella. The real back stabbers(front actually) were the slime ball from La. who voted for impeachment along with mittens. Linda is guilty on a lower level. His threat to attack Mexico. During the election season he wanted to introduce legislation banning abortion upon viability. This was when the young women were up in arms and he throws gas on the fire. It’s calculated my friends.

No primary challengers. Who’s brave enough to take on what’s there? The only ones I can think of are Kay Bailey(tx.) and Liz in the Wyoming senate, real ‘conservatives’ right?

I thought Trump gambled supporting Budd-TOO conservative? Turns out he wasn’t.

Still it’s gotta be Gianforte if we really want to win in Montana. He should at least ‘seriously think’ about it and thereby get Tester to think retirement. We don’t do things that way.

There’s more:

Ohio-our best bet could be the swami-fella currently running for POTUS. He could take a page out of the JD chance playbook. He changes direction after he’s made his point turning heads.

I don’t see one democrat that should have any trouble. They are all in solidly blue states. Pick one you think is on shaky ground. Even if someone retires there is no reason to believe that any of the state will flip.

Well I think Virginia voters swung on the Governor last cycle — perhaps Tim Kaine’s time has come.

Republicans aren't going to win SQUAT if no-excuse mail-in ballots, dropboxes, and Dominion machines are still allowed in 2024.

Republicans will never take back the Senate or the POTUS as long as RINOs hate conservatives more than they hate democrats.

The GOP’s fate in the Senate and House will largely be determined by who is at the top of the ticket. If they put up some establishment Rino, they will have a disappointing overall performance yet again.

DJT was ate the top of the ticket in 2020 and the GOP still lost the Senate and House.

I am telling you, if Republicans run an establishment candidate at the top of the ticket don’t hold your breath on any major shakeups.

GOP will underperform.

They may gain seats but nowhere near what they should.

What’s re you talking about? House gained 14 seats in 2020.

What was their performance without Trump?

Worst by party out of the White House in my lifetime

Better wake up

We couldn’t be that lucky.

Besides they wouldn’t be fertilizer. It would be like putting a cobalt jacket on a nuke.... It would poison everything for eternity.

And Trump did abysmally in 22. If he is at the top in 24 there will be a blue wave
