President Biden complained Friday that Republicans want to make sure “we don’t have enough IRS agents” to go after the “super wealthy.”

Simplify the tax code and eliminate complexity with the goal of reducing tax preparation to a one page document. Taxpayers will make fewer mistakes, which in turn will reduct the number of audits. The environment will benefit from less paper consumption for tax forms and instructions. Tax returns will take significantly less time to prepare. Tax audits will be simpler, permitting IRS agents to conduct more audits. The government will collect more money. The American people will be happier.
