...There are still hundreds of diplomats and politicians around the world — including in Canberra — working openly and behind the scenes to ensure tensions between China and the US never escalate into war.
Rising tensions or unforeseen circumstances that could lead to war, however, can sometimes overtake those working for peace.
So to contribute to this discussion, I’ve sought analysis from four of Australia’s most experienced military strategists and asked them exactly what Australia’s involvement in a war with China could look like. The four have more than 100 years of high-level military and strategic experience between them.
(snip)
They have different opinions on a range of issues, but one thing that is striking about the four is what they agree on. All agree, for example, that the United States — with or without Australia’s assistance — cannot win a war against China.

Would they cancel the State of Origins match?
Would Union and League take the same side? What about Aussie Rules?
So many questions.
Despite the courage of Australian military men, without Australian nukes it would be a short one.And with Australian nukes it would be particularly messy.
It would be stupidity for china to fight Australia. The women in Australia are meaner than junk yard dogs
If Australia attacked China from the rear, would Greece help?
One would think a continent of 25mm people would want to arm and train themselves against a muzzie nation of 180mm on their doorstep.
If anybody has ever spent any time with Aussies, one would realize they have no desire to do anything about their own security. Whinging judgemental cry babies nearly as arrogant and useless as the Scots and Irish.
Short. They’ve already sold out.
It would look a lot like unconditional surrender.
So what?
We could not win a land war with, Russia, China, or India
why would we want to?
Democrat fools tried it in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq and fuked all those up.
Korea was a UN war, you know how well the UN functions.
Stick with Naval superiority, and “space” power.
We do better there.
‘All agree, for example, that the United States — with or without Australia’s assistance — cannot win a war against China.”
We need an edit function.
My comments were aimed ta USA.
Aussies would be history in hours.
If I were Australia I would detonate an h bomb just to make sure China does not make a mistake.
Australia will wish they had back all those rifles they confiscated and destroyed a few years back.
“All agree, for example, that the United States — with or without Australia’s assistance — cannot win a war against China.”
Lol. When we want Australia’s opinion, we’ll ask for it. Until then, go back to stealing the last of your subjects’ liberties.
Australia has a smaller population than Texas. They would not last 5 mjnutes as they disarmed their population,
What would war with China look like for Australia?
—
One sided rout? Poor overrated Chinese.
All living Aussies would speak Mandarin.
Wise Aussies would learn it now.
Really Wise Aussies would find a safe place in a Foreign country and move there.
Really Brilliant Aussies would never let their new neighbors find out they're Aussies.
