Fox News host Tucker Carlson responded to criticism from Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) over releasing footage of the Capitol protests from Jan. 6, 2021.
While speaking on the Senate floor, Schumer accused Carlson of "lying" and "manipulating" his audience by releasing the footage.
"To say January 6 was not violent is a lie, a lie pure and simple. I don't think I've ever seen a prime-time cable news anchor manipulate his viewers the way Mr. Carlson did last night. I don't think I've ever seen an anchor treat the American people and American democracy with such disdain."
Schumer pleaded for Fox News to prohibit Carlson from running a "second segment of lies."
McConnell also denounced the release of the footage, calling it a "mistake." He cited a statement from U.S. Capitol Police chief Tom Manger, who called it "offensive and misleading."
"Clearly the chief of the Capitol Police, in my view, correctly described what most of us witnessed firsthand on January 6," McConnell told reporters.
"It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that's completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks," he continued.
In response, Carlson called the criticisms "hysteria," saying the footage is a "threat" to the lies Schumer has told about Jan. 6.

They can’t handle the Truth
Schumer is the guy who called for violent attacks on Conservative Supreme Court Justices, now he wants to curtail first amendment rights.
The conversation should be about Schumer, not Tucker.

Aside from the usual league of RINOs, there are a lot more in the GOP who are reticent about the J6 videos. They are at best enabling this scandal.
Tucker should show his biggest wrath for the GOP traitors.
Mittens and Kramer need to be challenged in the next primary. Then there’s Wicker in Mississippi. Strong challengers may or may not be available. Tucker-get the ball rolling.
It’s simple. Anyone canker MAGA at arms length but to criticize at the wrong time is cowardly.
The war is on! The only way for the Right to win this war is to get the LIARS in front of Congress to testify under oath about their obfuscation, incomplete and deceptive partisan investigation, and outright lies they have told and published in official reports. Unfortunately they will know that the INJUSTICE department under Garland will never prosecute them for lying while under oath to Congress. The attorney’s for those prosecuted will attempt to use these videos on appeals as the prosecution withheld exculpatory evidence they knew existed. Of course the press will continue to promote the mass insurrection claims so the average voter will likely discount this contradictory video evidence. Just like they continue to dismiss evidence of election fraud and wide-spread democrat malfeasance.

I like Tucker but couldn’t help but notice he showed NO NEW FOOTAGE of J6 since the first show.

It’s not in this article but schumer ended by saying Fox News needs to remove Tucker’s show. Which is exactly what Tucker is exposing. The left’s attempt to muzzle the truth.
Tucker was an excellent choice to receive the footage. His show is huge in the ratings and he goes for the throat.
Yeah I could never figure that one out either.
