The corrupt fake news mafia has a LONG history. The so called “Pentagon Papers” SOLELY contained stolen material from administrations PRIOR to Richard Nixon. If anything, they exposed the incompetent and politically driven Vietnam policies of Johnson and Kennedy. Instead, it was twisted into propaganda to hammer the Richard Nixon administration.
Daniel Ellsberg himself was no hero and neither was the New York Times. They could have pruned the published documents to focus SOLELY on the corrupt decision making of the prior Democrat administrations. Instead, they also published material they gave out critical information about our code beaking intelligence and usage of bugging devices. It was in fact PRECISELY for these reasons that the Nixon administration sued to stop publication.
The whole nefarious episode was another of the MANY despicable disgraces of the New York Times.
