Putin was funding and assisting European terrorist groups when Reagan was in, and pro-Russia Europe was white hot with rage in the streets against Reagan, massive demonstrations, and kidnappings and murders of GIs with bombings and attempted bombings of bases and civilian targets.
Putin getting rabid support from some Americans is not new.
