1. The US said NATO would not expand into Eastern Europe. This is false. (link) . Putin started this claim in 2007 by twisting a 1990 speech by NATO General Secretary Woerner. The reality is the discussion over the reunification of Germany, were only about the reunification of Germany.
There was no point in discussing NATO expansion into Warsaw Pact countries occupied by Russia, when no one expected Russia to collapse. If these alleged promises were to be kept, they would be in the German Reunification Treaty. They are not there. What NATO agreed to is not put NATO bases in East Germany. That promise has been kept to this day.
2. The US had no basis after 9/11 to go into Iraq. Look up the forum tags for sarin and iraqwmd. The Bush administration was terrible at defending its position. The fact is, coalition forces found hundreds of munitions, several hundred tons of Uranium yellowcake, documemtns showing Saddam was hiding what he had and going to restart his chemical weapons program. Freeper Jveritas posted a lot of articles about what was found (until he was banned by JR for mormom bashing).
3. The Bush-Cheney-Corporate-Axis-of-Evil was reckless in terminating the ABM treaty in 2002. Congress already did that with National Missile Defense, supported 3:1 in the House and 99-0 in the Senate. When the USSR dissolved, all treaties dissolved with it. When Bush gave the required six month notice the US was leaving the treaty, then Democrats put on a show of suing the President, in opposition to what they already voted in favor. Because Democrats will be Democrats.
Six years later in 2008, the USN launched Operation Burnt Frost, where CG-70 USS Lake Erie, shot down a disabled reconnaissance satellite at a altitude of 150 miles in orbit. Both the US and Russian surface to air missiles were reaching the point where they crossed over in to ABM capability.
4. The CIA backed Maidan Coup. The only "evidence" for this is that it happened and Victoria Nuland had a unguarded phone call where she said mean things about the EU and favored the UN to solve the problem. As a economist, how does Sachs explain Poroshenko stealing 1.5 Billion from the Ukrainian treasury and fleeing to Russia? That sounds like he was backed by Russia trying to overthrow his own country.
5. The NATO threat to Russia. No one wants to invaded Russia. European nations bordering Russia want to be safe from Russia and have safe trade relations. No one wants 18th century to before WW-II imperialism any more, except the Russian government.
FDR destroyed the British Empire with the Lend Lease Program using it during WWII to so financially strap England that it ended it world dominate role.
But try to tell any of the Uke lover’s on FR any of those facts and they will tell they are lies or not treaty’s.

Evidence: Sachs states US pays for coup and violence from Ukrainian side –Sachs says he knows “first hand” about this. US overthrow of Ukraine gov’t. He is a first hand WITNESS to it.
This is sophistry, they were discussing the people Nuland et al were APPROVING for the cabinet 2 weeks BEFORE the coup.

If Sachs had personal, first hand knowledge that the Maidan Revolution was a coup - for which Poroshenko looted the Ukrainian Treasury and fled to Russia, don't forget about that - why did it take him eight years to say it? Why won't he spell out what he knows?
