“Faith group” = “Ashamed of Jesus”

“With Jesus, the use of force, even in self defense, was a no-no.”

That is patently false as you present it. Jesus would never advocate you watch a helpless female child be raped because you should not use force.

Also Jesus would never advocate a person wait to be murdered because force in self defense is wrong, that would invalidate much of the old testament to wit Jesus literally said he came in fulfillment of the law.

Jesus did not need Peter to defend anyone as Jesus is absolute, he is God, please let’s not spread a false doctrine on this issue.

Self defense and the defense of innocents less capable of their own defense is well established in God’s word.

Next time a mass murderer brings his show to a church, keep these folks in mind.

Does this sound like Jesus was a abolitionist on violence?

Mark 11:15 On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves

John 2:13 When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. 14 In the temple courts he found people selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables exchanging money. 15 So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables.

So these people have nothing more important, such as their own sins to repent from; they have to make stuff up that they aren’t responsible for to feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeel guilty about?

I am not advocating violence. I am just pointing out that it has a place in our fallen world. It is a sin to allow evil to befall innocents when it is within your power to prevent it. I readily acknowledge that is a hard thing to work through and not to be undertaken lightly.

In 2020, 1,752 Pennsylvanians died in gun incidents, according to the CDC, putting the commonwealth in the middle of the 50 states in terms of firearm deaths per capita. Over 6,000 children were killed in shootings in 2022, a significant increase over prior years, according to the Gun Violence Archive tracker.

What a load of Codswallop.

The people who want “gun control” are the same people who pull the lever for the people who write the policies that produce the sociopaths who use the guns to kill people.

Dogooders have no redeeming social value.

They rationalize away evil in exchange for a false sense of accomplishment and commeraderie orgasms.

If “faith groups” wanted to end gun violence, they need to minister to people to end violence, not ban guns.

The violence in people’s lives is the issue and will continue whether guns are available or not. If guns aren’t available, they’ll use something and anything else.

Did Jesus not also say that if you have a cloak, but no sword that you should sell your cloak and buy a sword?

Yes, though we should never be eager to use it. One cannot deny there is a justified use of force, though we must be VERY careful about it.

Luke 22:36
“He said to them, ‘But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.’”

With Jesus, the use of force, even in self defense, was a no-no.

Oh really?

Does that include the clearing of the Temple with a whip of cords and He Himself deliberately went out and made for that purpose?

Also, give us the chapter and verse where He says that self-defense is a no-no for people.

Stick with the 1st Amendment, stay away from the 2nd. Stay in your lane “religious leaders”.

Agreed. Violence should be used only in the necessary defense of life or property. And as a last resort only.

Cracking down

Leftists just love to "crack down".

It's not about guns, it's about control.

Please translate this for me, I thought the GOP had control of the House. I know that is not a sure thing in votes because of the RINOs.

“With Democrats in the House majority, the control of the committee has passed to its top Democrat, Rep. Tim Briggs, D-Montgomery, who had clashed with Kauffman over the lack of substantive gun policy discussion.”
