Researchers have produced a detailed "future flood map" of Britain - simulating the impact of flooding as climate change takes its toll.
It has revealed that annual damage caused by flooding could increase by more than a fifth in today's terms over the next century.
That could be reduced if pledges to reduce global carbon emissions are met.
To create these flood risk maps, the research team from Bristol University and Fathom - a company that assesses flood and climate risk - simulated all types of flooding in the coming decades.
The team is also currently modelling flooding in Northern Ireland to expand the forecasts to include the whole of the UK as the climate warms.
Chief research officer at Fathom, Dr Oliver Wing, explained that it was crucial to understand how that "flood risk landscape" would change in a warming world, because it will be different for every community.
"Our model shows that there are many places where flood risk is growing," said Dr Wing. "Being able to understand the communities where this is likely to happen allows us to make sensible investment decisions - about flood defence structures, natural flood management or even moving people out of harm's way."
This level of detail, according to the scientists, is missing from the government's own current efforts to measure flood risk.
"Current government flood maps are not scrutinised by scientists, generally speaking," said Dr Wing. "The methods they use are not transparent.
"And every pound we spend on flood risk mitigation is a pound that could be spent on teachers, nurses, hospitals, schools, so it's really important that it's grounded in accurate science."

Well, for DECADES now we’ve asked how these Climate-Change Fighters were going to handle Russia, China, and India, since they were not on board for their grand schemes.
Last year we learned the Globalist/Neocon Plan:
1) Purify Ukraine by having them drive the Russians out (or killing off those that won’t leave).
2) Use that to leverage a color revolution in Russia, to install a Puppet Government like Germany, where they don’t even care if we blow up their infrastructure.
3) Use the Puppet Government in Russia to break up the country into much more manageable smaller countries (this was documented last summer).
4) Use the takeover of Russia to put the squeeze on China by denying them access to energy and other resources (just as we did to Imperial Japan nearly 100 years ago).
5) Then a color revolution in China which installs a Western Puppet.
6) At that point India and the rest of the world has to fold.
And, if everything goes perfect, the Globalists and Neocons will have the world they dream of, with Americans forced into high-rises in the cities, and eating bugs for dinner (yum, yum).
But too bad, the Russians are wise to it, and don’t approve. So now it’s just simple war against Russia and China...going to be lots of fun!

The Little Ice Age cooled temps and lowered the sea levels more than the Modern Warm Period has raised them.
Such bs...What is...is.....Get over it. No one can predict the future. Heavily financed educated guess should not be an option. It’s called “stealing”.

They just never stop making their predictions and being wrong. They don’t in any way manner shape or form acknowledge their being ALWAYS wrong and just go right on with their idiocy. This isn’t stupidity. It is evil.
I'm sure he will go visit so they can thank him in person for saving them from that fate. Those conferences he held with mega-rich people flying in on private jets from all over the world must have done the trick. (There was a period of time where just scheduling a global warming conference was powerful enough to generate massive snow storms to shut the whole thing down. That alone single-handedly reversed global warming and turned it into climate change.)

Interesting graph. A distinct cooling period coincides with the collapse of the bronze age c.1500-1200bc; a subsequent warming period coincides with the dawning of the iron age c 1000 bc. All just coincidences I suppose. Everyone knows warming is bad.

Frankly it's amazing that the abolitionist movement in America had 11 of the 13 states willing to be abolitionist when signing the Declaration and later the Constitution. Only the states of Georgia and South Carolina dug their heels in on keeping slavery in the new country. Even with all the hardship of growing crops (thus demand for slavery) 11 states were willing to start the country off abolitionist. From 40% to 70% of Europe's population decimated by plague during Dark Age and Little Ice Age.
mid 1800's: Modern Warm Period begins. Slavery abolished in English speaking countries. By 1900, like in other warm periods, people realize the warm period is going on and are grateful for it. Higher crop yields, better rain patterns, less death by plague.
1970s: a brief scare of a new ice age begins. They were wrong in believing the Modern Warm Period was over. But they were right in knowing that it's the cold periods that are bad, not the warm periods. The political class took note.
late 1980's and 1990's: the political cult begins brainwashing the public. For the first time in recorded history people believe that global warming is a bad thing.
