For all its flaws, the Canadian system works much better for employers than the U.S. system does.
One big difference is that Canada's government-run health care system is funded directly by the taxpayers. Health insurance costs aren't a giant anchor around the necks of Canadian employers the way they are down here in the U.S.
Politically, the Canadian system is much more honest: "If you want 'free' sh!t, you'll pay for it yourself."
The Liberal Party always was Liberal about Capitalism. That’s the essence of its original core beliefs.
Trudeau carries on the “pay to play” tradition of corruption.
Social Liberalism is the drug used by the Liberal Party to distract the working people from the pro-business policies of the Liberal Party.
That is an extremely valid point.
In the US it is the opposite. The lines of those wanting the gimme are also demanding someone else pay for it. It cuts across party lines.
So if we want a SS plan, then we must increase taxes. Full stop.
Or we remove benefits. Full stop.
Most want benefits but not to pay for it.
