At the start of March, the General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces stated that the Russian military casualties exceeded 150,000. Meanwhile, several reports indicate that Ukrainian military casualties are in excess of 100,000.
However, it is likely that the actual numbers of Russian and Ukrainian combat losses are considerably less.

Good old honest Forbes saying “hey, guys, it’s not nearly as bad as you think” as they try to fend off the growing war weariness and the awakening realization that this whole war & sanction business is devastating the West.
Actually, Ukrainian casualties are likely considerably higher and Russian casualties are nearly certainly substantially less than stated.
Why is that? There is no formula for casualties from bombardment. Especially not for highly dispersed, fortified defenders.
There is no good basis for assumptions of casualties. Forbes estimate is a swag. I’d say good try, but flawed.
This does not translate to crippling casualties for Ukraine, on its own. What we see from drone and satellite footage is masses of shell craters in empty fields. Which leads me to think that the Russians have problems with targeting and dispersion, at least.
The Ukrainians are highly dispersed and generally under heavy cover.
Granted that if you shoot enough you will randomly catch people out of cover, or hit the precise spot, sometimes, but you can’t predict how many casualties you are generating that way per 1000 rounds of ammo.
You are going to have to wait until it’s all over.
The fact that they are pressing 16 and 60 years old into service is a reliable indicator.
Russia initially committed about 200,000 personnel and no more than 80,000 more over the next 12 months.
In other words we are being lied to on a daily basis. But as long as people believe it it’s true.
Just the 2023 version of the Five O’Clock Follies.
nah, you got it backwards
Russian casualties are much higher than reported, and Ukrainian casualties are a lot less
so Ukraine isn’t running out of fighting troops, but Russia is
Is there a reason you always lie? You know what the truth is but you insist on lying.
I have seen the devastated cities the Ukrainians have tried to defend and they are moonscapes sculpted by artillery. Russia is practicing the same method of war they used against the Germans in WW II and we know how that worked out. Millions of German dead.
Russia started the invasion with 270,000 troops
then conscripted another 300,000 last September
that’s 570,000 so far
and Russia will probably need a new mobilization this spring, considering how quickly Ukrainians are mowing them down ...
Whatever makes you fell better canuck, even if it is lying to yourself.
not lying
you just have trouble accepting that Russia is losing
prove me wrong
There weren’t 270k. Of 300k reservists not even a third are currently deployed.
Lot’s of casualties in this war. Utmost the truth.
