Ship of fools: Biden’s incompetent economic team
Washington Times ^ | 3/5/23 | Richard W. Rahn

Posted on 03/05/2023 9:54:58 AM PST by CFW

Has any president ever assembled a more incompetent and less impressive Cabinet and group of senior advisors than President Joe Biden?

This past week, Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen endorsed the idea of taxing “unrealized capital gains” – a terrible idea that is unworkable, economically destructive, and immoral. A capital gain is an increase in the price of an asset, whether it be a home, farm, business, corporate stock, art object, etc. The IRS taxes these price increases as income (even when the price increase is solely due to inflation) when the asset is sold, and the alleged gain realized. It is a terrible tax. So, the proposal by members of the Biden Administration and certain members of Congress is to take a very bad tax and make it worse.

The economy will not improve until Biden and his cabal are gone and his policies have been reversed. Expect inflation to continue for the foreseeable future.

Kind of like Carter years. Joe Biden will probably get reelected in 2024. Blue states are bluer.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ship_of_fools

The ship of fools is an allegory, originating from Book VI of Plato’s Republic, about a ship with a dysfunctional crew. The allegory is intended to represent the problems of governance prevailing in a political system not based on expert knowledge.

Forgot the origination.........................

It's NOT incompetence.
It IS intentional.

Blue states are bluer.

That in itself doesn't impact the Electoral College tally. Post-election-day fraud in the purple states is the big issue and they will be doubling down on that in 2024.

The blue States won’t be blue after the shortage of food sets in as predicted....Food production is way down because of Energy policies of the Dems. Nitrogen Fertilizer is made from Natural Gas and it has become very expensive. Nitrogen is critical in food production and high food production.

“Blue states are bluer”

The diverse and ubiquitous cheating has given the rats control over the voting process in every swing state. As bad as Biden is he will almost certainly “win”. The GOPe has allowed it and the rats have learned it almost impossible to get a court to intercede no matter how blatant the cheating is.

Biden’s economic team appears incompetent because the whole administration is incompetent.

Just imagine if all the hedge funds, money market funds, and individual investors suddenly had to come up with the money to pay this capital gains tax on unrealized gains. They’ll have to sell off half their stuff to pay the tax bill, which will crash the market to the extent it will never recover. But I guess that’s the plan.

“Biden’s economic team appears incompetent because the whole administration is incompetent.”

The 16th Amendment states that Congress shall have the power to lay and collect TAXES on INCOMES, from whatever source derived.

An unrealized gain does not = income. Mop-head Yellen should be fired, her intelligence and competence are greatly overrated. The article’s author should have pointed to the 16th amendment right out of the gate.

“I won't slave for beggars pay
likewise gold or jewels but I would slave to learn the ways to sink your ship of fools''. Robert Hunter/Jerry Garcia. Borrowing on Plato's poem this song is the anthem for the Biden Administration. A collection of misfits,Marxists and just plain idiots determined to deliver this nation on a leash to an envious world.

That's part of it. But you have conservative folks leaving blue states like New York moving to Florida.

Florida wasn't this red back in 2000. So people are voting with their feet.

But as a result of that, we are less competitive nationally.

Leaving aside the constitutionality of the proposal and why feral givernment is too large to succeed / its spending is out of control (which is where all the discussion belongs), .... then it seems losses in unrealized asset values would be allowed to lower one’s income taxes too.

DeSantis took a number of steps to neutralize the cheating in Fla. The result was it was the one place the predicted red wave actually occurred. I remember in the aftermath the FNC girls on the couch were pitching the BS narrative that “it was Ron’s positive message” that did it. No doubt that came down from Ryan and Murdoch.

Ha ha. Biden didn’t assemble a team, it assembled itself before he was even elected. If any assembly took place, it was Ron Klain who did it.

If Ron did nothing about cheating in Florida, he would still have won easily, 53 to 47 instead of nearly 60% in 2022.

Demographics matter. Right now we have no hope in blue states. Try to get elected in Chicago. Sure they're crooked. But everyone there is a 'rat.
