Biden bets big that voters will reward him in 2024 for new bridge and road projects

WASHINGTON — Signs are popping up around the country delivering the message that President Joe Biden deserves a big piece of credit for the new bridges and roads being built with billions in federal money.

“Project funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law,” one reads at a project to ease traffic on the Brent Spence Bridge across the Ohio River, between Covington, Kentucky, and Cincinnati. “President Joe Biden,” the message continues. “Building a better America.”

Federal tax dollars are upgrading the bridge and paying for the signs, but Biden hopes there will be a windfall at the ballot box in 2024.

If he runs again, he'll make a case that lives are improving in discernible ways because of legislation most people may not even be aware that he helped pass. Maybe their commute to work takes less time or expanded broadband has done away with cyber dead zones in their neighborhood. Biden aims to remind them that he pushed through a $1 trillion infrastructure spending bill and “implemented” it in efficient fashion, making all that possible, his advisers said.

That may prove a tough sell. Through bitter experience, elected officials of both parties have learned that rebuilding tunnels, railways and highways takes time — so much time that any hope of a swift political dividend vanishes. Looking to jumpstart an economy reeling from the financial collapse, then-President Barack Obama rolled out nearly $50 billion in new transportation projects after taking office in 2009, only to ruefully remark a year later that projects advertised as “shovel-ready” were nothing of the sort.

What’s different this time around, Biden allies contend, is that projects are moving from conception to completion more quickly, potentially making a difference in the 2024 presidential election.

Maybe he should concentrate on the railroad tracks in Ohio.

“Bridge ... between Covington, Kentucky, and Cincinnati.”

That might explain the unholy relationship among Biden, DeWine, and McConnell. A menage a trois sicker than anything porn movies invent.

What the heck happened to all the Shovel Ready projects that we’ve been promised and paid for for the past 20 years?

It's about our everyday bills...at the grocery store...at the pump...our utility bills...rental bills....

Bridges are always on the agenda....Joe thinks these projects are something new. They're in every budget.

Was part of the vaunted Infrastructure Bill. Where 90 % of the funds go to China to make solar panels, windmill blades, halt further oil exploration and financing, while pushing electric vehicles whose battery materials are mostly made in China, which controls the rare earths needed.

No one said the “Shovel Ready “ jobs had to be in America.

Everybody supports “Infrastructure Repair”, until they are sitting in a traffic jam in the construction area.

He is not wrong. A well-timed end of Covid declaration by the WHO will give Biden a landslide over Trump.

Damn, it’s a shame when somebody suffering from dementia starts using recreational drugs. Why the hell would “da voters” reward that moron with new bridge and road projects? He’s one sick moron. FJB.

Government spending just reminds me of how much corruption there is and where the money is really going. Not to mention the ten percent for the big guy. They’re destroying our country.

If I remember correctly, FJB’s butt boy, O’Bama did this same crap. Hell, Barry was even given credit for the buses shuttling Indians around the Rezzie and the “border towns” around the Rezzies. “O’Bama done this” was written on all the signs spread around every construction project. As a taxpayer, it made me puke every time I saw those signs.

Infrastructure projects have timelines of years or decades.

For example, the planning for the Southern segment of Interstate 69 in Indiana (Evansville to Indianapolis) began in the late 90’s with the official route determined in March 2004.

The first short segment opened in 2009.

The final segment from State Road 144 to Interstate 465 will not be finished until 2024.

Biden will have little to do with the Brent Spence bridge replacement project.

Biden, more than any politician, has been and remains corrupt with CCP, Ukraine and other quid pro quo deals. He and many of his family members should be in prison.

Biden's support of our #1 existential threat, the CCP, is criminal if not treasonous.

Biden's open border policy has allowed for the invasion of the U.S., which is criminal if not treasonous.

Biden economic policies have crushed the average American.

I could go on .... the point is that the idea of fixing roads and bridges will address the needs of the average American tells me how far out of touch elites like Biden are.
